Definitely a good place to stay!

Review of The King Post
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 31, 2019
The King Post is a good hotel and definitely worth booking - best directly via their website. I would compare the price with sites like Booking.com and others. The setting and architechture are very welcoming and unique, the rooms are suites with kitchen facilities a "living room" and bed room. The bathroom is clean and the shower is fine but nothing fancy, basic but definitely sufficient and clean. The service for breakfast is friendly but very slow and it takes time for them to process your payment so take this into consideration if you are in a rush or need to be picked up. The Spa is good and Rose is excellent. She has experience and strong hands! I definitely recommend her.

Overall a good place to stay in Nairobi

I wanted to try out the King Post because it has a decent gym compared to other hotel gyms, and my friends live in one of the apartments nearby, unfortunately my stay for work was coloured because:

1. No internet for over a week - so that I had to postpone skype conferences, or go to noisy cafes to do them without any privacy.
2. The nights were noisy, with loud music playing three nights in a row - I had finally call the reception one night, so I could get at least one decent nights sleep - I had specifically written asking for a quiet room
3. The studio apartment did not have a desk for a work space
4. The lamu beds are charming, but very rickety and squeaky - which also did not help with the sleeping
5. The studio was dark and oppressive
6. The whole place feels a bit worn down - towels were tattered
7.

The food at the restaurant was good, and the staff wonderful. I wish I could say better things about the King Post.

Room tip: Top floors should be brighter

Dear Mr. RFP B,

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to serve you. You are our valued Guest and your opinion matters a lot to us, it helps us get better.

We are very disappointed to learn that you were without internet for a week! We have an in-house IT technician who would have checked this out immediately. Our entire business is run on internet and we cannot survive without it.

If there were issues troubling you, all you had to do was inform The Manager and they would have been looked into immediately and your stay would have been satisfying. Nevertheless, thank you for the great feedback and your preferences, we are also looking at the issues that you have mentioned above.

We take this opportunity to welcome you back soon.

The ambience, especially at the rooftop, is second to none while the view picturesque.
A quaint country cottage with a touch of the 21st-century modernity to hang out at if the hustle and bustle of the City Center is something you are averse to.

Room tip: For nature lovers, explore the rooftop bar,

If your are in Nairobi and looking for a quaint bar to hang out, enjoy some good food, wine, and catch up with friends without the usual din of Nairobi's pubs, this is the place to be. And the stewards behave like they actually want to be there.😀

The strucutre of the hotel is just beautiful! The top most restaurant gives an amazing view but thats about it.The staff always feel cold and gossipy, look at you like you are such a bother(spa and service). We ordered Naan which was so crsipy and hard, more like a tortilla. We requested to have the rigth naan and to my surprise, they gave the same?!You need a new Naan chef! The cocktails were okay.

Room tip: Enjoy the view stay away from the food

We stayed at the King post and found the rooms to be clean with a strong theme that was well designed. They have a coffee house, restaurant, roof terrace restaurant and a bar so it was really well equipped if you wanted to stay on site and relax. The food was excellent. They have a great gym which is complementary for guests staying over and it was pretty well equipped with everything you need from a gym including weights room, cardio room and dance studio with spinning equipment.

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming throughout, especially Purity and Wycliffe who were both really friendly and helpful - thanks!

The only real down sides were the pool which was pretty cold and not really usable for the time of year we went, and the bathroom in the apartment had seen better days needing updating. Other than that this is a great place to stay and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone fancying a trip to Nairobi with good quality for the price point.

Thank you for mentioning Wycliffe and Purity. They are here to offer a warm, friendly and exemplary service, therefore a big kudos to them.
