“Peaceful Retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014

Tribe provides friendly service, and excellent restaurant. Don't pass up breakfast. Can't imagine you getting such a substantial meal for the start of your day at another place.
Village Market is a three minute walk away. Good for alternate eating options. Hotel taxi is crazy expensive. Suggest local cabs. Tribe will call for you.
Very convenient location is working nearby.

Very friendly service, restaurant is good with expected prices. Breakfast is very good. Walk to Village Market where there are all kind of choices. Decent small gym with trainers that can give you tips. Some rooms are small and oddly shaped, make sure you get the ordinary rooms. The fares charged by the hotel taxis are astronomic, bargain hard and then just tell them to drop you at the Gigiri taxi stand if they won't compromise.

Noting Shilpa1978's security comments, I had left an iPod in the room on checking out and when I called they immediately checked the room and found out it, no run around and in fact they found my electric shaver which I didn't know was missing. Also, not sure why Shilp1978 didn't use the safe to store cash/credit cards.

The hotel is beautiful and the service is wonderful. The hotel concierge even brought me flowers when she discovered how sick I became during my trip. My room was very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. The bath tub and the nightly turn-down service were nice touches.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a tub if you think you'll use it. Very soothing after a long day!

It's a scam hotel they rob their guests... Recently I was there with family and friends and our cash and credit cards details were stolen from the room
Attitude of the staff very casual towards our complain seems like they all r involved
Never stay there guys
Beware!!!!!!!!
The cameras surveillance is not for our security it's for monitoring the guests
It's been 10 days since we complained to the hotel maneger but are yet to get any response

Lovely hotel, nice digs; furniture, fittings and decorations, very rare, culturally 'tribal'. Attentive staff willing to listen to issues and solve them without fuss. Extremely peaceful, no traffic, no noise. Village Market is a stone's throw away. Will stay there again, for sure.

Room Tip: If you get a room on the 4th floor, you can use the outside patio; quite nice.

I haven't stayed in the hotel itself, but I use the restaurant in the basement quite often. The food is delicious, the staffs are very polite and courteous and service is great.
I order my cakes there also, I must say, their white chocolate is the creamiest, most tasty I have had without it being sugary. Chef Anne made really good cakes for me and my daughter and even replaced a cake that didn't taste exactly as I wanted . The price is on the high end , but for the service and quality , it is worth it!

I have stayed at Tribe on several occasions on transit for business and always make it my first choice. With a hectic schedule I find Tribe a haven of peace in Westlands where the service and food are excellent so I don't have any stress. I find the decor outstanding and unique so you don't feel like you are in a hotel that is the same as many others. With the stressful travles I often go to Kaya spa which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND……I have had spa treatments all over the world and this is certainly up there with the best of them. Also important to me because of the work I do is that the environment is safe and secure…..with embassies and the UN as neighbors Tribe is situated in a safe neighborhood. Additionally, as a single woman traveler going out late at night or for meals can be difficult, but with the nearby village Market shopping centre within the same premises as Tribe it offers alternatives to the hotel while remaining secure. I just think this is an excellent all round option!

Room Tip: I had a problem with internet in one of the rooms on the floor below ground. I am not sure that thi...
