Fogo Gaucho is a Brazilian steak house in Nairobi, Kenya. Here you will be able to taste over 12 types of juicy steaks. It’s an all around meat adventure that is nothing less than perfect. It is a wonderful restaurant and a perfect place for meat lovers to just seat down and enjoy.

Fogo Gaucho has a top class service. The food comes out almost instantly. You will get the red-green card and when you are ready to engage in some meat feast, turn you card to green signaling so that the waiter brings the meat. When you are full or want a break, turn the card to red which signals the waiters to stop bringing the meat. The waiters are all kind and they will serve you very well.

The open time of this restaurant for dinner is 7pm to 10.30pm on Mondays to Thursdays, 6.30pm to 10.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 6.30pm to 10pm on Sundays. For lunch, it is open from 12.30pm to 3pm on Mondays to Thursdays, 12pm to 4.00pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12pm- 4pm on Sundays. It would have been better if it was open for longer time because there might be people who want to go there in between the opening time. The location is Viking House on Waiyaki Way in Westlands.

The food here is fantastic. First you can go to the salad bar where there are 20 different types of salads prepared for you. After the salad, turn your card to the green side and the waiter will start to bring you the main course. For the main course there is rump steak, beef ribs, top sirloin and sirloin steak, lamb shoulder, beef and pork sausages, pork ribs, fish fillet, crocodile meat, chicken legs, pork leg and grilled prawns. The waiter will kindly ask you if you would like the food or not while moving around. As you enjoy the food you can also order a drink to have with your food. After the main course if you have space for more the waiter will bring you the dessert which is grilled pineapple with cinnamon. You do not pay for the amount you eat but you pay per person. It is 1800 Kenyan Shillings per person which is reasonable.

I would highly recommend this restaurant for you if you are not vegetarian because it is a place for you to eat meat. If I was to rate this restaurant from 1~10, 1 being very bad and10 being very good, I would give this restaurant a rate of 9. I think the food was really great but they could improve by adding some more flavors into the meat. In my opinion the best part of the meal was the dessert. When the waiter first came with the dessert and he said it was grilled pineapple with cinnamon I thought it was disgusting but when I tried some, it was the most delightful dessert I’ve ever had. I would give two thumbs up for this restaurant for its great service and food. Very good food and a lot of it. About $20 US for the unlimited meat. The only exotic is crocodile. Beautiful rare beef. Lamb, prawns, pirk ribs and shoulder, chicken legs, top sirloin.
The fried sweet banana is really good, but the French fries are soggy. They did have Heinz ketchup.
The salad bar has twenty salads, all pretty good. Tiny new potatoes are not red, but brown.
I wasn't crazy about the crocodile. Very tough. We asked for sharper knives, but no joy.
For dessert they have grilled pineapple with brown sugar. Delicious.
Reasonably priced drinks, too.
The decor is a little tired. It's on an older colonial tiled roof building.
Our service was excellent, maybe because we went at 6:30 when they opened, and they weren't busy. Very friendly and efficient.

Took the family for dinner after making a booking by email. Service was very erratic and at some point I had to ask three different waiters for drinks and the bill. One gets the feeling they are at an assembly plant (get fed, move on, get out) perhaps owing to over booking.

The back dining area feels like an afterthought and stands in stark contrast to the from which looks the better furnished and decorated.

Biggest shock was the rubbish area in plain view on the way to the washroom. Great salad offering and the food is good - but a big disconnect with the service and ambiance.

All the meat you can eat. It is not expensive. A dinner costs about 2500 Ksh/person incl. beverages, only around 20 € or 30 $.

I found the meat to be good, especially the beaf. Seafood was not exciting. They also have a big chees you can dig into. Try it was great! So was the sallad buffet.

We came around 8pm without a reservation and got a table right away.

The taxi driver didn´t know where the restaurant was so remember the adress or just Viking House.
In summary; It is not a star restaurant but it is value for your money!
