Description: Osteria provides the best Italian food in Nairobi. In addition to their stunning chain of restaurants, Osteria also delivers to locations in Nairobi. The launch of Osteria takeaway in the city has received a warm welcome. The Osteria del Chianti restaurant menu is by many considered the best Italian in the region. With the launch of Osteria Warwick in Gigiri this year, Osteria now offers Sushi and Teppanyaki, arguably some of the the best Japanese food in the country. Visit us today for a slice of Italy.

“Business Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

Osteria offers you a convenient and good place to have a decent meal over a business lunch. The quality of the food has improved since the last time and the staff could do a little more to be attentive to the clients. Granted that it gets very busy over lunch time but a little organisation would help. Still a good choice for your business lunch venue in Kilimani. Keep it up.

“Consistent quality, lovely garden”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

Osteria is an overall safe bet in Nairobi. The ambience of the restaurant is lovely, with a garden area, live band on weekends, and generally pleasant staff. There are a variety of dishes on the menu that can cater to different tastes. The house wine by the glass is a good deal (the "large" is about the size of a fishbowl!). Osteria is not the kind of restaurant that will leave you with a wow factor - the food is relatively simple, and while it won't disappoint, it won't impress much either. The setting of the restaurant, however, more than compensates. On many occasions, when I have visitors to Nairobi, we take them out to Osteria since its a nicer overall experience than a restaurant that may have more innovative food, but not so charming atmosphere. Some good things to try at Osteria - lamb chops, pasta, some of the grilled meat dishes.

“Great place to eat and relax.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

The most recent time i went to Osteria, this review i wrote on facebook still stands so i figured i'd share it here too;

One of the great ITALIAN RESTAURANTs to go to in Nairobi has to be Osteria del Chianti on Lenana Road. Now this is is an old favourite of mine that keeps me going back for more reasons that just hunger and a taste for foreign food. They cook great meals to begin with, and in decent portions too! The menu selection's wide enough for you to try a whole bunch of stuff and they serve pretty good house wine if you're stuck on what to choose.

The ambiance? Warm and friendly - in fact, a tad cosy i might say. Service is polite, and decently dressed so ladies', you don't have to worry about that inappropriately dressed waitress on that special date (if you know what i mean! ;-) unless they've suddenly changed that!...lol).Thankfully they don't hover too much but are available to cater to you.

Prices - be prepared to spend some good money but they're not through the roof. It's a good place to go on a date or be with family or close friends because of the intimate settings, and with the buzz in the room on a full night, you'll be comfortable talking about absolutely anything! Bottom line - just be comfortable or get comfortable with whomever you're with...good company makes for most of the fun you pay for wherever you go!!

Happy eating!

“Have gone twice in one week - good value for Nairobi”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2012

Very welcoming. The owner is super friendly and makes you feel at home. I thought the value was decent for Nairobi and love their tiramisu. The beef carpaccio was spot on and very enjoyable. Grilled fish dishes - fresh and affordable. Wine is expensive but good variety for bottles - limited choice for wine by the glass.

Only restaurant we have found besides our hotel that has a high chair. Truly welcomes children which is a God send when you are staying here for 3 weeks.

Nice Ambiance, friendly staff and very comfortable. Pleasantly surprised to find such a good Italian restaurant here.

“Nice garden setting in the city”

Excellent food and service. Seating in the garden patio area is enjoyable on a warm bright afternoon. Would visit again when visiting relations in Kenya next time.
