very nice location, immaculate garden, friendly staff, very clean. Having said that, I was housed in a very small room made out of what looked like the former garage, ground floor looking over parked cars. Bathroom across a public hallway, no mirror for shaving. The block included another bedroom, separated by a thin plywood partition, every sound coming through. To get to the room you need to traverse the kitchen, laundry room and back courtyard. The sliding door to the bedroom jammed every time. The rooms in the main building may be charming, but I can only judge mine, which was quite sub-standard. Clearly these are some extra rooms that have been tacked on, but they damage the image of the whole property.

This is a Guesthouse with spacious rooms. The rates very expensive for a guesthouse. Lacked amenities like Telephone in the room, no tea/coffee making facility. Very quiet area. Staff very good and helpful.

Room tip: Family room is spacious and has garden view.

This is an excellent B&B - good value for money in Gigiri.

I spent many weeks here for my work and felt like I was at home. The experience was enhanced by Maggie's home cooking (and maternal oversight) and Christine's kindness. All the staff were friendly, respectful, and extremely helpful.

Location - close to UN and Village Markets
Internet - excellent speed
Pool - clean and nice
Food - basic breakfast with additional home cooked meals

Just a few minutes from all the embassies, UN and NGO compounds, Orchid Homes is a better bet for you if you're sticking to a budget in this part of town than the more traditional hotels in the area.

You get a super friendly welcome and my room was very spacious. It isn't a hotel, so don't expect hotel amenities and services, and there are the usual quirks that seem to be a feature of affordable places to stay in Kenya, but that's a small downside in my view.
