I stayed three nights at Nefertiti hotel with a couple of friends, and it was a very good experience. It's obviously not a luxury hotel, but I thought the rooms were surprisingly spacious and they were very clean (they were cleaned each day), and the beds were the best I've come across in Egypt (where I've lived for four months now).
The bathroom was clean and nice as well. It would have been good if it had a separate shower cubicle, but the floor dried very quickly so it wasn't a big problem.
The breakfast was decent, and the roof terrace very nice, but a tiny bit cold in winter. The location is very good as it's in the middle of Luxor, right next to Luxor Temple and a short walk away from the Luxor Museum. The only downside is that you will experience a lot of hassle everywhere in the East Bank, so if you look for complete peace and quiet the West Bank is better.
What really made me love the hotel was how accomodating they were. We arrived very early in the morning and they let us check in straight away, and the day we were leaving we had to check out by noon, but they still let us use all the hotel facilities and when we came back there in the afternoon they let us use a room until we left in the evening (with no extra charge) and even provided clean towels so we could have a shower. We had also booked some tours with them beforehand (which were interesting), and when we decided last minute to change one tour for another, they let us do it, even though they lost money on it. They really try their best to give you a pleasant stay, and the fact that there are no rigid rules makes it very relaxing. I would definitely reccomend this hotel.
