this hotel is amazing the staff couldnt do enough for you...for starters it was just me and my mum who went to luxor so was very intimidating for 2 woman to be alone in this country but the staff made us feel so comfortable.
also if u stay at this hotel go to the bag shop and speak to ali and abdul the brothers who own the shop they will be your guides for your stay at luxor..and will get your trips for half the price of what the reps charge you... also go and see and craig david he has a boat by the pool which he will take you over to banana island for the day which is very cheap..
make sure you do a hot balloon ride ali will sort this out for £30 much cheaper than rep and also do a camel ride...only downfall is the food is a bit repeative ...overall amazing experience and hotel was fantastic...TIP....you will get haggled outside but just say no thanks or that ali has helped you and they will leave you alone.

Room Tip: wouldnt bother with a pool view i would get a side view you have the best of both worlds the nile an...

This is our first time to stay 4 star hotel in Egypt since we have a small baby with us, we always stay at five star. But this time, since the reviews of this hotel were very good and we wanted to stay in the center of the city, we decided to book this hotel, which turned out to be a great decision. We liked the friendly staff in this hotel, and we liked the buffet of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Garden is well treated and the room is clean and neat. We would choose this hotel again if we ever visit the Luxor again.

We stayed for a night at the Iberotel. The value is good, althought we were put in a very ugly room at first that smelled like smoke, asked to change and were charged more.
The carpets are in dire need of being changed and our new room smelled like cigarettes as well (although we specified to be in a non-smoking room).
The grounds are really nice, the swiming pool is overlooking the Nile and very nice.
Food was OK, and service professional and friendly.
Didn't really appreciate all the people who jump at you the minute you step out of the hotel, and I felt the security guards standing there could do something to prevent guests from being harrased!
Internet didn't work, which was a real problem as I had an amergency at home. I wasn't charged for it, but the fact that internet didn't work was a problem.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Nile!

Just back from another fantastic week in Luxor at the Iberotel, that is the fifth time my wife and I have been here, first time in October usually we go June or July when it is hotter, still very warm though 38c, on arrival you are made to feel very welcome by the staff at the reception, the rooms I have never had any issues with, had a different room and side each visit, this time top floor room 538 overlooking the road and fountain, Rooms clean bed very comfortable bathroom shower toilet clean and plenty towels, minibar replenished every day usage is an extra charge, when you walk in to the terraced area and Gardens you have a beautiful view of the Nile and across to the West Bank to the mountains of The valley of the kings , Queens, also the floating pool service at the pool area is excellent lay back relax and the lads will bring everything to you drinks food etc, Karkadeh bar again service is excellent only thing and this is a personal preference they no longer have Sakara Gold beer, The Mandarin is a Chinese à la carte restaurant food excellent this is on the right hand side in the hotel gardens, Romance restaurant Italian cuisine not open on this occaison but found the food on other visits very good, The main restaurant called Côte Jardin breakfast and evening meal I have found to be very good, toilets in the general areas of the hotel I have found to be well kept, now the adventure begins step outside the hotel, calesh taxi, felucca that is what the locals will be asking you remember always barter you will find it is not expensive, if you do not want the hassle La shukran (No Thankyou) just repeat and carry on your adventure remember the local people are only trying to make a living, make sure you try the local restuarants for the food and drinks found them very good and inexpensive, it is completley safe to go to Egypt, if you decide you want to chill have plenty of sunshine great adventure try the Iberotel luxor whose great staff make it truley memorable, also always use the local guides for trips you will get a better deal, than from the travel companys who hike up prices for the exact same trip. I would just like to say Thankyou to all the staff at the Iberotel for a great week once again they made our holiday, and a special Thankyou to Mr Mahmoud (Front Office), he is the man to see if you need anything. See You All In May 2013

THE GOOD : from the moment we arrived we felt welcome and relaxed. The hotel was clean and the rooms ( I had three two were adjoining and the other next door. Not greedy but there were 7 of us) were spacious and clean each had its own safe, the balcony had a nile veiw and could clearly see the valley of the kings. every member of staff spoke good snglish and were smiling and very helpful. we went with thomson andtheir rep ishmail was defenanty the best rep i have ever met. The food was excelent and its a 10 min walk to get to Luxor temple. the pool is fantastic and towels are available at no cost.
THE BETTER: visit craig david or Hassan as his real name was he has a boat next to the pool called may he really made our holiday a genuine decent bloke thanks mate. from a visit to crocadole island and bathing in the nile a wonderful experience.
THE WARNING: right warning number 1, you will be pestered the moment you walk out the door mainly by the horse carriage drivers the worst is a man who calls himself MR Lovely. hes a con man he calls his carrige a ferrari and all the drivers that describe the carriages after cars work for him. he will offer you a free ride and buy you drinks he will refuse money for it saying its a gift. a few days later if you dont use his carriage when he sees you leave the hotel he will get one of his drivers to intercept you down the road a demand money.
2.watch out for the shops outside the hotel the jewellry is mainly tin, and the bags are badly made.
3. be warned when you walk down the road to luxor temple you will be pestered by boat owners and carrige drivers some will become quite abusive but wont harm you there desprate tourism is very low sadly they dont reaslise they are puttung people off leaving the hotels.
4. powercuts happen often in luxor but the hotel backup generator is quick and the lifts were not affected

dispite the monor points the best holiday we have had i will return
TIPS
the wrist band is a dead give away outside the street tradors and carriage drivers know where your staying cover them with bangles sweat bands or watches. or turn them inside out.
do not reply to the street haslers. or make up a languge that really confuses them
bumb bags are a real advert for the street traders only take what you need if in doubt there are plenty of tourust police who will help you just mentioning them is enough to scare them off.

Booked to stay here for 14 nights, managed 2!! If you have any standards whatsoever DO NOT book this hotel.
This hotel is situated on a main road right on a main traffic island, with building work on both sides in the worst part of Luxor. The traffic noise is unbearable with horns papping constantly all through the night. This hotel should be rated at 1star and that's being generous.... Lets start with the cons......

Location terrible, main noisy road

Rooms are disgusting, dark dismal and dirty

Bathrooms terrible..very small and they're filthy, toilet all stained, toilet brush had never been cleaned, towels a dirty grey colour. Shower door covered in brown slime, tiles all cracked and dirty.

Bedroom carpet filthy and terribly stained

Balcony the smallest I've ever seen, furniture filthy and stained

Toilet in reception/bar area had no working hand dryer and no paper towels had to dry your hands on toilet roll. There was an open bin in which someone had put used sanitary towels in on the Wednesday night, they were still there when we left on Friday lunchtime

All inclusive is a joke!! Only the buffet is all inclusive, but you really couldn't eat such a low standard of food for 2 weeks and only a small selection of drinks are all inclusive

Pool area, very old sun beds with no cushions, tiles around pool cracked and dirty

Pros......NONE!!!

After complaining about the room we were offered another room which we looked at but was exactly the same so we had no alternative but to leave the hotel and move to the Nile Palace which was an amazing hotel and more like what we are used to. I consider myself well travelled, I have visited Egypt on 2 previous occasions I have also visited many third world countries but I have never stayed in such a disgusting hotel as the Iberotel.
When booking a holiday I always look at trip advisor and I usually take a small number of negative reviews with a pinch of salt thinking ' you can't please all of the people all of the time' .... But honestly the negative reviews of this hotel are the only true reviews....I will finish as I started.....if you have any standards whatsoever avoid this hotel at all costs

A superb hotel to stay in, the food was as expected when you are all inclusive but there was always something to have, as a tip have lunch down at the pool, the peppered steak, steak & chicken sandwiches are much better than what's on offer in the restauran plus they are cooked to order. The staff were fantastic & most of all didn't expect tips every time they served you. The rooms aren't 5 star but have all that's needed, a comfy bed, air conditioning & a shower that actually works & is hot. The only downside to this holiday was the amount of guests which can't be helped by them, sometimes the staff out numbered the guests. We had a room on the side of the hotel which although was noisy actually kept us entertained sometimes, we were fasinated by the traffic, sad I know but they don't seem to have any rules when driving. I would certainly recommend this hotel & happily go back there. 1 other tip is if you go with a travel company try a local agent for the trips as you can save quite a bit & they can't afford to con you as they're livelihood depends on it, we used a local agent called Abu Simbel travel (see their write up)

Room Tip: Front rooms have a nile view but you do have to pay extra.
