“More tombs”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

Excellent location with ticket including visists to several tomb interiors. The colours and painting are amazing. Expect to pay a few egytian pounds to the staff who will open the gates for you and try to give information. This is normal and it is only like 40p in our money. Do try to have lots of low value coins or 5E notes spare.

“Wonderful tombs”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

Really interesting tombs, with delicate and well-preserved carvings. These tombs are much quieter than those of the Valley of the Kings but really worth visiting.
The tombs are visited by buying separate tickets for different groups of tombs, so do some research before you go.
This time I visited the Assassif group of tombs, which involved a bit of walking and climbing, but worth it all. If you want to visit the tomb of Pabasa, be sure to buy a separate ticket at the ticket office by Hatcheput's Temple before you get down the steps and then have to go back up and revisit the ticket kiosk! We made that mistake on two different occasions.

“Possibly even better carvings than the Valley of the Kings”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Hardly anyone was there when we visited giving plenty of time to look around. Unbelievable detail on the carvings inside the tombs. Fascinating stories from the guide.

“A different kind of tomb”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Instead of Kings being welcomed into the afterlife, we saw pictures of day-to-day life in ancient Egypt - harvesting, partying, ordinary life. Great.
