“Ancient Egypt on a human scale”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

Most interesting from a social history angle - where the builders and decorators of the tombs and their families lived for generations in isolation from the rest of the population on the east bank. Tomb decorations not so much about the kings, but ordinary lives of the work people and their supervisors.

“Must see”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

How the workers lived and died. The two tombs open were marvellous and I stayed as long as I wanted in them (it says 10mins only) but the place is empty. If you want to buy a beer get your taxi driver to buy it for you at the Rameses restaurant near by.. it is 15E£ for a glass 500ml bottle

“well worth the trip”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

superb tomb paintings in total peace and quiet- or would be but for the custodians, who know nothing at all, but can point and say "blue" "henna" "hawk" etc-for a tip.- they will also say you can take photos inside if you pay them. Don't!!! The flash will ruin them eventually, nothing will be in focus without a tripod, and what you pay them will not be enough.
