Owner description: The key feature of this tomb, which was originally built for Ramses V and expanded by Ramses VI during the 20th Dynasty, is its vaulted astronomical ceiling with a double image of the Goddess Nut swallowing the sun.

This is truly one of the better Tombs open to the general public. The distance that you walk to see the Valley of the Kings is considerable, but you can go at your own pace and the walk is definitely worth while!! Sun protection and water are always required.

The tomb was large and had amazing color and detail. It was well worth the extra fee to get in. The man at the opening of the tomb taking tickets followed us all the way through pointing out details that we would have missed otherwise. He spoke very little English but we were able to communicate. He would stop and run to the entrance to take other peoples tickets and then return to us. We knew he was doing it for tips but we were happy to give him a generous one at the end for his help. Unfortunately he was not happy with what we gave him, I don't think he even looked at how much we gave him before hitting us up for more money. Kind of soured what we saw.

This tomb has very vibrant colours and writings on the walls. The detail is breathtaking.
You can envision what the colours would have looked like so long ago.

Research is essential in the Valley of the Kings because guides are not allowed in the tombs. Plan your tour of this essential tomb.

No more than 30 minutes is required for this tomb.

The size of the tomb is impressive and the book of the dead that covers the walls is fascinating, rather go and see this tomb than King Tuts.
