I was booked for 2 nights at this hotel, but afer spending just one night here, I contacted my tour guide and requested to checkout and be moved to another hotel immediately. Not recommended unless you just need a room to sleep in. Really not a 5 star level establishment in any possible way! At best, 2 stars. Great view on the Nile, however the rooms are not up to the expectations of 5-star luxury, well at least the one I was in. Closet space is very small, no iron or iron board, no mini bar etc....things you would expect to see in a room of a 5 star htotel. The room is somehow cramped yet still not offering much! I did receive a complimentary bottle of water. No room wifi unless you paid for it, but the lobby offered it free. Balcony is very strange almost like a pizza slice with extremely limited privacy. The TV remote was very sticky and the tub was not clean. While there was a sign that clearly stated no smoking, I witness an employee smoking right at the reception desk. Not many choices for breakfast.

Disclaimer: I did not booked this hotel, this was part of a tour package through Egypt Tours Portal that I bought and I was informed that it was 5 star hotel before I arrived in country. I also pass on my frustration with the tour company.

Also I would suggest you read the responses from the manager on past guest reviews to see they have an explanation for everything instead of owning up to the dissatisfaction from their guest.

The hotel is very big and spotless the staff are fantastic. In the mornings i could walk along the Nile on the edge of the hotel. The food.and service was great It has two swim up bars and four in door bars and all the drinks were in the price.

Dear chris w,

Thank you for sharing a great holiday experience and choosing Egypt as your vacation destination. We hope you will choose to stay at the Steigenberger Nile Palace next time and receive the 5* service that our team provides for our guests but I have to mention on forehand that we don't provide All Inclusive packages and our pool doesn't have two swim up bars. Thank you again for visiting Egypt and we hope you will be back soon to explore more of our beautiful country and historic Luxor.

Only stayed 1 night on the way to a Nile Cruise but 1st impressions were very good. It's right on the east bank of The Nile with a wonderful view of sunset looking across the river to the west.
Breakfast was really good with an extensive buffet and egg station. Rooms were, perhaps, a little dated but spotlessly clean and adequate.
For the price paid The Steigenberger Nile Palace was great value and I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Loved this hotel. The room was large, comfortable. and had beautiful views from the balcony. We easily walked the city or got a carriage to local sites from the hotel. The three restaurants we tried at the hotel were all excellent with delicious food, many choices and great service. The hotel was very busy with many guests and still excellent service and quiet rooms. Highly recommend.
