We spent three weeks at the Sonesta in January, our sixth visit. Another happy and relaxing holiday.. .We are always amazed that the Staff should remember us and say "welcome home". We look forward to our breakfasts, especially the smile and chat from the "egg chef" . Michael and his team at the pool, who make our time spent there so comfortable. Our room is always clean and spotless and the towel art by the boys, brings a smile to our faces when we return to our room. Youstina, who actually seems to care that everything is to our liking. It is a difficult time for everyone in Luxor at the moment, but the Sonesta and its staff go out of their way to make guests time spent there as happy as possible. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: we prefer the waterworks side of the Hotel as we like to see the view of the West Bank lit up at nig...

We will be staying at the Sonesta for 2 glorious weeks from 13th march. this hotel has everything you need for a great holiday wether lounging by the pool or seeing all of luxors sights. the side nile view rooms offer a fantastic bacony view of the nile with great sunsets. the rooms are really nice and all the staff are very helpful, staff at reception or in the restaurants or by the pool. breakfast is fantastic with lots of choice it sets you up for the day. the restaurants are first class my favourite is the Japanese restaurant. we love this hotel this will be our 7th stay since 2009 if you plan to visit luxor this is by far the best hotel. we stayed with 2 friend november 2012 for my 50th birthday and the hotel made it very special

This was our 8th time in the sonesta and it gets better each time.
We have tried various other hotels in luxor and keep coming back.
We're already planning our next visit.
We always ask for the sunny side of the hotel at this time of year, they have always sorted us within fuss.

This was our third stay in the Sonesta and we had a fantastic two week stay. Our room the first night was a bit noisy so we asked at reception if we could change to a different room and they let us view two rooms to see which we preferred with no problem. The room we moved to was fantastic it was towards the front right side and had a fantastic view of the Nile, at night the Theban hills are flood lit and easily visible from the room window/balcony. Breakfast generally had a range of foods to suit most people; cereals, fruit juices, breads, toast, waffles, hot foods and salads, although the buffet style tends to mean that sometimes food was not as hot as we would have liked, tea and coffee are supplied endlessly by attentive and friendly staff. We never ate at the restaurants as we generally prefer to eat out in the evening but the Lotus cafe just beyond the reception area has good fresh food for snacks and also at the poolside good fresh food was available where the staff are always happy to help you.
I also had a birthday while staying and received a Birthday card and big chocolate covered cake courtesy of the hotel management delivered to our room by a singing waiter!
It is in a great location if you either want to simply relax next to the pool, with a fantastic Nile view, or if you want to explore the sights and sounds of Luxor with the temple just 2 minutes down the road. Lots of restaurants, cafes, shops near the hotel in addition to those in it.

Room Tip: Rooms of the left side are generally quieter but those on the right side have a better view, especia...

This was my sixth visit to this hotel and I will be back again (IF there are flights).

On checking in I was immediately recognised by name and welcomed back. What more could a repeat guest ask for?

I was given my requested room, which was lovely. The beds are the most comfortable that I have ever slept on and this time I had stayed at three hotels, including the Mena House in Cairo and this was by far the best experience. It's just SO comfortable.

I can also recommend the Spa, particularly when they have a special offer for a two hour spa experience. It's fantastic value for money and the staff are really good.

It's hard to find any fault, my only annoyance was the lack of ripe, fresh fruit for breakfast. I don;t know why this was stopped, but it used to make the breakfast choices perfect.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Sonesta to anyone who wants an exceptional hotel and the service that goes with it.

Room Tip: Ask for a side Nile view on a high floor

We have spent 8 nights in this hotel in front Nileview room. The hotel makes a very agreeable impression. The staff are extremely friendly. Nagha was very sweet at the pool and at breakfast Wafaa. We will remember them.
The room was dated, but comfortable. The bathroom was a total disaster and clearly needs a renovation. Shower in the bath, with a medieval shower curtain, is not of this time and certainly not a 5 star hotel worthy. A non-smoking room is almost always a room where ashtrays are removed.
Be careful when changing money at the bank at the hotel. There is an employee who during the entire exchange will tell stories and then give too little change. We caught him and eventually got our money, but that was not easy.

This hotel is first rate and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Beds are very comfortable and bed linen is changed daily if you wish. Breakfast choice wasn't of the standard I would expect in a quality hotel. I appreciate that it is a muslim country but the hot food choice was limited , and the cereal choice poor compared to hotels we have stayed in around the world..The egg chef though was great. Tourist levels are low at the moment but a conference of 200 men at the weekend seemed to swamp the breakfast dining room. Nice treat to be able to take a felucca or motor boat from the hotel quay side.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Nile are much quiter.
