We had an amazing meal here when we visited in october. This restaurant is rustic home cooking at its best. You may be joined by the various lizards running across the walls but the views, delicious food and genial host,Mahmoud, will ensure you have a memorable visit.Among the various dishes he served up to our family of four were, spicy battered chicken drumsticks, rosemary chicken, spiced okra, spinach and potato sides and fresh breads.Wonderful.

What can be better than sitting on the banks of the Nile trying food that is unique?
There is no menu, we just had what ever was cooked that day, the food is superb, fresh, tasty and different.
The owner is a character and adds to the atmosphere.
It was so nice to get away from the normal restaurants and try something different.

Best if you speak Arabic or French as his English is limited but well worth the effort. If yu give him notice, he will even knock up specials like duck a l'orange.

We had a nice visit to Tutankhamon restaurant. The owner was very friendly and spoke to us in French, even though we're Irish, it was nice to converse in French with a bit of English thrown in,

No menu, just whatever the chef created that day. We were served by three generations of the family which gave a lovely family feel. The dish served was a beef with rice and vegetables followed by a dessert of fruit.

Unfortunately the roof top was closed for renovations so we were seated across the road on the bank of the nile. This was nice watching the boats at night.

Must be the best place to sip a drink and have lunch or dinner after an exhaustingly hot day among the ruins and tombs. We did so twice, and were treated both times to a terrific, real Egyptian meal (yes, real vegetables and great meat) and for desserts (we were the only guests at the time) a nice conversation with the staff. It's near the ferry, so you'll have to shake off the usual hasslers, which gets to be routine pretty quick in Luxor. But once on the roof terrace, with the sun going down and a shimmering view of the Nile, you'll want to stay for hours...
