Owner description: The Karnak Sound and Light Show highlights the dramatic history of ancient Thebes. The show narrates the achievements of some great Pharaohs, with poetic descriptions of the ancient treasures. As visitors walk through the complex, the pharaohs arise to tell the story of their interesting lives, as haunting music mysteriously flows through this ancient city. Ancient and poetic voices tell the visitors about the birth of Karnak temple and the heroic achievements of the pharaohs and the god Amun. It is an enchanting and supernatural experience to listen to sound effects and gaze at the magnificent ruins illuminated during the well-presented show.

The show gave a good overview of the history of the temples etc. and as you walk through at night with various areas lit up gave a real sense of what had gone on. The final area seated in front of the sacred lake with the valley of the kings in the distance was quite an experience

visited during the day, and was looking forward to the night time light show, but had technical problems when the story came on, with no lights with it, and every one just did not seem to know what was happening or were informed, so got off to a bad start, and spoilt it for me, but these things happen.

Out of our whole two week trip this we can honestly say was the most disappointing.

It was amateurish and needs updating for the visitors. It could have been so much more, this we felt was a waste of money. There are many who rave about it but in our experience it was dissappointing in such an historical and ancient place.

too many camera flashes, crying babies & barking dogs =.=' damn it. too many people and there is 1 section we cant heard clearly. overall, it's not worth spending your 100LE on this stupid show, search it on youtube. burn your money instead, at least you can see some fire.

One for uninformed - who will be not much better informed after the show. Pretty lights is about the substance of it. Go to a nightclub instead.
