The home of Howard Carter, this is a must see if you are following the Tutankhamun story. It is easily reached from Luxor. the atmosphere of the home has a tranquil feel . It is as if Carter recently left .. original study, bedrooms, kitchen give an insight into his life but also offer a sense of a by gone age with everything from original light switches, kitchen appliances all adding to a retro 1920s feel. The gardens are lush and the curator is charming , keen to take photos for you, proud to point out the significant attributes of the house.
This made my trip . I feel it is so under visited and should be part of a visitor's journey to the valley of the KIngs.More
