Imagine your pet bird eaten by a snake.. that is what is supposed to have happened to Carter's pet. His house is very desirable.. with a bit of modernisation it would make a wonderful home. See the entry hall, the rooms he worked in, his letters, the gramophone he played and the bedroom he slept in. When his guests stayed they had a bedroom too. Marvel at how anything got cooked in the kitchen... and the bathroom... actually not that bad? Make sure that you "see " Carter talking to you it's amazing what modern technology can do.

A step back to the time of the discovery of King Tuts Tomb. Not a huge amount to see but interesting photos and letters from the time of the discovery.

The day i went ,there was only Nazeer,Osama and me we had the house to ourselves. Everything there is just as Howard Carter left it, After we had done the tour of the house we went outside and had tea in the garden. This is not done for everyone and we gave a good tip. The house is beautiful and worth a vist,

Brilliantly set out to show you life as it was when he was alive.
The film show is well worth staying for.

...but don't expect too much. The vast majority of furniture and objects didn't belong to Carter - fairly important for a house museum.
