We have booked 4 Dbl. Cabins with my friends and it was very nice Cruise
- Our rooms are very clean with bathtubs in our cabins with very big panoramic windows are able to open it and enjoy to see Egypt River Nile.
- Food was very delicious and there are varieties every day.
- there was was entertainments during sailings hours.
- the staff very polite and always smile.
Thanks M/S Adonis for give us very nice Nile Cruise is not forgotten.
The Nile has its own charm. My wife and I took a 5 day cruise from Luxor to Aswan visiting a lot of touristic sites in between. The Sunset on the Nile is awesome. The cruiser was the "Royal Princess". The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. The food buffet was average but the cook and the kitchen staff made sure to offer a lot of varieties. The rooms were average. The blankets should be washed more often. In general it was a pleasant cruise.
This cruiseship was comfortable with plenty of food and good coffee. The downside was internet was only available at $30US a day and even then only in the reception. The rooftop deck was functional with sunchairs a swimming pool and afternoon tea server daily. The rooms were functional with a bath and shower and daily bottled water provided. The best thing was each cabin had their own balcony where you could sit and weatch the river glide by. The visit to the temple at Kom Ombo was a nightmare though as all boats tied up at same time in the evening and the colours in the columns and murals were bleached out by the light. There were multiple backout while we were visiting and the crush of people made it an unpleasant visit.
The boat sellers at the lock were fun with them hurling their wares to the balconies and occasionally missing with them falling into the water and the negotiations going on with yelling up and down to get an agreement. I would recommend the boat for its food, the rooms and the staff but if you need internet buy an Egyptian SIM as you get signal all along the river and you can use it in your own cabin.
We boarded the river cruise from Aswan to Luxor. The cruise room is spacious and comfortable. However the bathtub is kinda stained and dirty.
The toilet is very very closed to the basin.. Therefore, it could be a little challenging for ppl with a bigger body shape.
Onboard, the cruise do provide 3 meals There is also a small massage station and a simple stall selling clothes.
Experience on this river cruise is great. Smooth and stable sailing. They will stop by some popular tourist attractions for the tourist to visit the ancient temple and move around.
Staffs is rather friendly and helpful. But they speak limited English and might have problem understanding even you just want to order a sunny side up to be done for your eggs.
The lunch however is awesome. Fresh food and love the fish. But the soup is often very oily. So try at your own preference.
Breakfast is really very bored...almost the same old food daily...
And they don't even supply ice water for all the meals.
All beverages is chargeable. From bottled water to alcohol.
And for a 1.5liter of bottled water, it cost about 22 Egyptian pound.
They have a tea break at sun deck every 4pm
.. giving coffee and tea of your choice. Comes with a slice of small butter cake and a piece of butter cookie. But the cake is hard and stale...
Since Egypt is a tips country, you will need to provide tips to the staff making up the rooms, the bell boy that carry your luggage and to all the crews working onboard on your last day.
Although the amount paying for tips is really up to individual, but the general standard is 5usd each day per head.
You can retrieved the envelope from the counter and drop it on the box.
Overall it a good experience with the river cruise, but the food esp the breakfast could be better. Maybe the staff can at leave have a basic understanding of English? At least able to understand the order from the guest.
Travelling January 3 to 16th was the best idea, tourism is still in recovery mode. Most places we visited were sparsely attended, unless a few boats arrived simultaneously.
We negotiated a 40$/ night/ person deal on the spot after checking out 3 boats.
Of course this pretty much only works if you are a little flexible, are a small group and have the time to shop around but definitely worth it. Also depends on supply; for example; Monday cruise Asw-Lux has limited ships on our day only 3. Wednesday is more popular. All boats at 3-4 star level are very similar, food is ok, touristy. Accommodations fine as in a average, depending on age of boat. Staff varies, ours was fun. Entertainment kitschy but passable. We didn’t do tours, we prefer to grab our own taxi and guide on the spot. You get a private tour , on your own schedule, for less $. Prepare for private transport by horse and buggy at Edfu and taxi+ferry at Philae. Luxor, Karnak and Valley of the Kings, Queens can be tricky but any taxi driver with some English skills we’ll treat you like gold and drop you pick you up in best spots with best advice. A full day should be between 300-700 EP£, simple to and from 300 £ tops, depending on your negotiating skills. A guide between 100-300£ depending.
It can also be a pain too get service onboard, So grab yourself drinks and snacks at a convenience store near the ships before start of cruise. you can probably find alcohol there too.
Do not pay any tips upfront. If you feel it’s warranted do so at the end.
