We weren't sure about this excursion but our tour with Discover Egypt included a boat ride with an expert (Mohamed Arabi) who pointed out all the amazing birds and took us around lots of small islands in the Nile. We felt transported back in time. The Nubian village was tagged on at the end. Easily the best part was on the boat watching nature and the sun do down.

This is not worth the money. Consists of a drink in a home built for tourists, a short visit to a school for a lesson in writing Arabic and a walk through the shops plus motorboat ride back to hotel. More or less a time filler

Sorry but this is not even close to NUBIAN village, this is only "village" of shops for only tourist purposes. If you expect to see nubian people here, turn around and walk away.

I was staying at the Movenpick Hotel which is located on the Island, and arranged with a Felucca to take us on a pleasant moonlight sail, stopping for about an hour at the Nubian Village. Because of the hour, it gave a good chance to look at not-touristic activities, such as the kids playground where energetic Soccer games were being played. Also made a stop at a home to see the 'Crocodile Mummy' The croc wasn't so interesting but the gentleman spent time over tea to talk about the village, and his collection of artifacts.
All in all it was a pleasant time, but not on the 'can't miss' list
