“Poor quality for the price.”

Sloppy, disinterested service, poorly furnished and maintained room. Expensive given the low quality. The only good thing about this hotel is its location on the Corniche - although, as a result, expect to be kept awake late into the evening by traffic noise. Avoid.

First off, I should tell you that the hotel offers all its guests a free upgrade or 10% discount on their next stay in a Pyramisa hotel in exchange for a favorable review on Tripadvisor. That should put some things in perspective.

The hotel itself has a fantastic location. It's just across the street from Aswan's famous souk, it's on the Corniche, i.e. the heart of Aswan, and it's right next to the river, which means your felucca can pick you up and drop you from the hotel directly. It's also got a nice deck area next to the river.

Unfortunately, the hotel itself is terrible. The room rates are high but the rooms themselves are old and - worse - with unswept floors. The bed in our first room was simply filthy. We also found that the beds were slanted in an upward plane. Upon complaining, our room was changed but the next one wasn't much better - unswept again. There was no bath soap supplied (despite our many requests), and no hand towels until many calls later. The heating didn't work, though it did make some interesting sounds resembling the sinking of the Titanic. Breakfast was a joke - they couldn't even do toast right, and asking for hot milk for your coffee meant a wait of 15 minutes. The hotel booked us for a trip to Abu Simbel promising us an 'air-conditioned bus' and what we got was a cramped minivan with no air-conditioning. What was worst was the absolute apathy displayed by most of the staff to our requests for fixing the problems in our room (honorable exception being Aref, who did his best to help when he heard our complaints and finally sent from soap from an outside store).

All in all, this hotel made us feel cheated of our money (both for the stay and the Abu Simbel trip) and if it weren't for the beauty of Aswan itself, we would have felt much worse for spending our money here.

A very nice hotel by river Nile. Beautiful pool setting especially during the sunset. Staff are very helpful (offering extra help to resolve parking problem, arranging tour to Abu Simbel etc) and room nice even not luxury.

The Isis Corniche Hotel is located in the middle of Aswan, right across from the Souk and very close to the ferry to Elephantine Island. It's about 20-30 minute walk from the train station. It's on the Nile as well, so location-wise this place is a winner.

The restaurant is surprisingly nice with great views of the Nile. The breakfast buffet lacks an omlette bar but provides plenty of pastries and a reasonable selection of hot entrees. Not much in the way of juice, but the service in the restaurant is attentive and friendly. Plenty of staff so you won't be ignored!

The swimming pool is right beside the Nile and is hidden from the Corniche. It's quite nice and I would recommend making time to relax.

The rooms are a let-down. They are all located outdoors like a country-side motel, but hidden from each other with reasonable landscaping. However, the inside feels like it's 30 years old. Aged furnishings, 20" non-flat screen TV, and insufficient yellowish lighting that just makes everything look worse. The Window views are poor, though spending for Nile side shows off Elephantine Island and the ugly tower there.

Considering the price (generally around 80 USD), I'd expect better from the rooms themselves. But the common areas are nice and the location is great.

Room Tip: Spending more for the Nile is worth it for the view, otherwise assume you're staring at a landsc...

Location: Fantastic central location on Corniche avenue, with a lot of shopping and and restaurants nearby. The hotel overlooks the river and the Movenpick resort on the other side, which is quite picturesque.

Room: Spacious room with moderately old furnishings. The best part was that there was absolutely no sound at night, which made for peaceful sleep.

Service: The service wasn’t impressive and required lots of follow up. The waiters were slow and for some reason we didn’t get towels on both days (maybe for extra tip?). The managers at the front desk were friendly though.

Facilities: The hotel is set up to have a resort type feel. Even though the entrance is on a main road, the hotel is tucked away below street level and close to the water, giving it an isolated feel. There is a big pool and a couple of restaurants with buffet-style grill for lunch. There is wi-fi in the common area but is very spotty.

Overall, it was a good experience, with the location being its trump card

Stayed overnight having travelled overnight by train from Cairo with Onthegotours. We were able to check in on arrival. We had 3 rooms in 400 range- at the top of the complex with no views. Rooms small with 2 single beds and not much floor space . Bathroom was particularly poor- seemed dirty with very basic towels. The pool area is nice, although pool was freezing. Nice views of the Nile which is right adjacent to hotels. The lunchtime poolside BBQ was adequate but seemed expensive for E 700 excluding drinks. The tour had organised a team dinner at the hotel. Soup and tagine all of which were adequate. Breakfast was high point, extensive buffet and seemed good quality. The location is right on Corniche in Aswan and with the views from the pool, the hotel could be excellent. However the rooms really let it down. The lunch invoice says Pyramisa Isis but looking on web it does not seem to be part of Pyramisa group.
