This hotel is just awesome. We have had the chance to stay in there for a short period of time. Everything is perfect, services, room, garden, swimming pool and people working hère are really nice. All combined it makes a perfect 5 stars experience. I’ll definitively recommandMore

A true jewel in the heart of the most beautiful location in Egypt!
The most enchanting historical hotel that has a soul, located on the Nile, prime location and most beautiful part of Egypt! Hotel has indisputable charm, and striving to please all the wishes of its guests, take note, you will be treated as royalty. I chose the Nile wing as the view over river Nile was perfect, and so was interior design, even though it’s new and not historical. Grounds of the hotel are very well kept, pool is such a refreshing place to be under the mango tree, with courteous and helpful staff! With spa and fitness room on site, gives an extra activity and chance to maintain healthy routine. Restaurants are beautifully decorated with antique details detains from King Farouk (Restaurant 1902), I loved dining on the terrace enjoying Nile view and specially selected delicacies. Service is premium all over! Devoted and lovely staff members, from Eslam, to Tharwat, Mustafa and Mahmoud, just to name a few. But basically, it is everyone you come in contact with, just like housekeeping man who made my bubble bath and chose aroma scent for better sleep, I enjoyed that very much. The beds are heavenly, and so is the cuisine, mostly french with some international dishes on the menu and of course, oriental. Left nothing to be desired, a true jewel, thank you for making my stay special! Such a lovely atmosphere overall. I fell in love with the place entirely. You are my favorite!

An Oasis Fit For A King
This was one of the houses of King Furouk. The minute you enter this hotel --- you will know you are in a Kings Palace. The look, the feel and location of this hotel transforms you back to a simpler time.

The pool area and porch dining area overlook the Nile, ruins and mountain. Behind all that is the desert and nothing more. There are no modern day sounds.. Google photos.

We did not stay in the old palace but the new addition. The rooms I'm guessing are well over 1000 sq ft are extremely well appointed and have a large porch with views of Nile and ruins. The Old hotel building is stunning as is the bar and multiple restaurant areas.

Food options are plentiful with four different restaurants to choose from --- our favourite was Lebanese offering in newer addition, followed by coffee and the best ice cream we had in Egypt in the lounge area. Breakfast buffet is large and plentiful.

One area of improvement: Buying a real piece of Egyptian art/craft is a challenge. Every tourist area and hotel have lots of off-shore dollar store product. The Old Cataract should consider a deal with local gallery/artists.

In closing if you are doing a cruise and depart at Aswan, don't go back to Cairo. Stay here at least for three days. Its a unique and special experience. Before I depart this earth we will be back to this hotel. .(Churchill and Agatha Christie thought the same thing). Canada Dry will return! (Egyptian nickname for Canadians because of soda that used to be sold in Egypt)

Stunning
Stunning hotel with large and amazing rooms and the best view of the Nile! We loved every minute of staying in this Hotel. It has a very old and charming feeling. Security is amazing. We felt safe at all times. Staff is so friendly and accommodating.

A very Special Hotel with wonderful History!!!!!!
Enjoyed our stay for three nights. The views were stunning. Very nice spa and pool.The views from balcony were lovely and relaxing. So glad we went!!!!! The staff was wonderful. Giving a special shoutout To Slivana, Mirna & Mahmoud!!!!

Just Gorgeous!
This is by far one of the most (if not the most) beautiful hotel we've ever stayed at. Hotel is so beautiful, we didn't want to go outside to do our tours, lol. It is also the perfect place after a long day of sightseeing since it has a great garden, indoor pool and spa services. The hotel has two buildings - original/older one is actually more beautiful as it is unique. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to experience one night there and one night in the newer building which is more modern and also very beautiful. The view from the balcony was priceless. The restaurant food was excellent. The staff was also great and very professional. Hotel is a bit pricy but it was well worth it for us.
