Beano's in Maadi is but a few steps from my office, so this is where I go for a "quick" business lunch. But nothing is quick in Egypt, so the term is relative. But service has improved immeasurably since they opened.
I particularly like their salads but they also serve a good sandwich if you're into bread. This is also a gathering place for the social crowd.
The restaurant itself is very nicely done, carved out of an old abandoned villa -- not sure what is left of that structure as the building and furnishings are very contemporary. Seating is on two levels inside and lots of seating under umbrellas outside. Very nicely done and pleasant.
