We stayed here for two nights (3 days) and thought it was just fabulous. Our bungalow style apartment was not sad in the slightest , it was gorgeous - right down to the fluffiest whitest towels and such friendly people and atmosphere. We even got to see an Egyptian wedding there.
The first evening we went to the Thai restaurant there (there were at least 3 other areas we could have eaten) and had really tasty and delightfullly prepared food with a very nice bottle of wine. Our host was a lovely happy guy who was very attentive but also gave us space - perfect. So perfect, we went back again the next night to another lovely evening with good food.
Breakfast was something else - there were so many different varieties of food to choose from with juices, tea and coffee.
Everything we wanted to do was organised for us in the huge hotel reception at sensible prices and nothing was too much effort.
The swimming pool was a good size too and we could only feel sorry that it wasn't as busy as it should be due to the tourist trade at the moment.
I would certainly love to go back for a good few days there and just lap up the facilities and enjoy the rest of everything being within 5 minutes distance.

Room Tip: Every apartment is on ground level and seem to be the same sort of size - spacious with plenty of wa...

Great location for visiting the Pyramids. We stayed one night at this hotel to attend the light and sound show and to visit the pyramids. Breakfast buffet was good to begin the day. It had a good variety and it was included in the price of the room. Most of the people I saw at breakfast; I saw them again at the pyramids area. The price that we paid for the room was 67 USD, including all taxes; which is an excellent price among the nearby hotels.

Two negative comments are that the room had a bad smell when we arrived. We blame the plate of fruits that was placed in the room table for the guests. The plate was covered with wrap paper and the fruit looks fresh; but, still emits a bad smell. We placed the plate in the refrigerator and the problem was solved.

We used the limo service for pick up / drop off at the airport for 38 UDS per way and we used Memphis Tours for our pyramid visits. We recommend this hotel to visit the pyramids area and we recommend using both of the services mentioned above.

Echoing what a lot of travellers say, this hotel complex is a bit tired but makes for an enjoyable stay. I liked the bungalow style room, which was quite well equipped, although some features were showing their age - the bedside lights in particular were very temperamental and hardly worked during our stay, despite letting maintenance know. The outside space was a very pleasant place to sit, watching the birds and lizards.
We only used the poolside restaurant for evening meals as we didn't need much to eat. The pizza and pasta were fine. You have to get used to the tipping which is outside my comfort zone, but that's Egypt.
Tip - use the 24 hour hotel bank to exchange your money. You get a much better rate than in England.

Nice hotel. Nicely spread breakfast buffet.

And then what's with the Egyptian tip seekers. It is a shame on them. They expect you tip them at the drop of the hat.
And the beware of the Cairo airport duty free shop attendants who cheat you especially, when you pay the bill in part u.s. dollars and part in Egyptian pounds.
I lost 8 dollars on a 40 u.s. dollar purchase.
he cheats on the calculations.

We spent 2 nights here at the beginning of our stay and also on our last night. This was a perfectly adequate hotel. Rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the air conditioner worked well, if a little noisy. The shower head didn't stay in place in the first room but we managed this by wedging something behind it. There was a good swimming pool area with an Italian eating area attached - we ate here the first night. Breakfast buffet had a good choice including a pancake/omelette bar.The surrounding area is not very 'scenic' except for stepping out and suddenly seeing the pyramids at the end of the road! As with all hotels in Egypt that we stayed at the internet connection was very expensive @£5 for half an hour.

The hotel is located in Giza, and if you eat drink at their rooftop cafe you have a great view of them from the terrace. The rooms quite large, and are on the ground floor away from the reception area and restaurants, surrounded by pleasant gardens, which adds to the resort feel. The pool is adequate for the size of hotel given that most people use the hotel as a base to visit the sights, and do not use the pool to the same extent as a seaside resort. There is a good pizza restaurant next to the pool. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the choice of breakfast was good. Staff were attentive and polite. As this is some distance from the centre of Cairo I probably would not recommend this if you want to be in the hub of things, as it is a 30 minute taxi ride (can be 40 minutes or more in the mad Cairo traffic), but it is certainly great for the pyramids.

This is a really nice hotel to stay in if you intend to visit Cairo / Giza and visit the pyramids. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff are very friendly and efficient. There is the age old problem of some staff expecting tips but of course this is up to the individual if they want to tip and how much etc.
The food is delicious and the wine is exceptional. Do not be mislead by the 'view of the pyramids from the roof restaruant' photo's. This restaruant is part of the Movenpick but is actually about a minute walk from the main hotel and the food at this particular restaruant is basically burger and chips and such like. The view of the pyramids is good though. If you want to visit the pyramids from the Movenpick you will need to walk for about 20 minutes or get a cab from outside the hotel. The cabbies are friendly and despite what a lot of people say, if you are fair with them and haggle and agree an acceptable price they will treat you really well. Make sure that you agree the price in egyptian pounds and not english pounds and make sure that both you and the cab driver are absolutely certain on the agreed price. Overall, the Movenpick is a great base to travel around Cairo from and return to.

Room Tip: All rooms are single story chalets so are pretty similar. Block 6 is good.
