“Rubbish!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2008

we stayed for one night and it was horrible.
we ordered a 3 people room and got one towel.
used bath stuff and burns in the floor and bed.
we asked to move rooms and they said it would be 5 mins we ended up waiting almost an hour for it. when we got there we found that the wal paper was falling down and the air conditioning failed to work. when you looked at the ceiling you could see into the framework of the building.we also found that the toilet failed to flush meaning we couldnt go for our hole stay.
one thing that was good was the view. floor nine was a great view of the pyramids and sun set,but also of the wrecked city. below. we were absolutly appaled at the service and breakfast was hoorible we didnt eat it as it looked so bad. we ended up eating mangos in town.the porter tryed everything to make sure our stay was better but his boss couldnt care less.
i advise you not to stay here!

Not worth even a single star rating. At the entrance Lobby looks nice after that nothing. Maintenace is very poor. Even reception Air conditioning won't work! I had changed 4 rooms for taking a better one. No way. All rooms are same. No proper Airconditioning. No hot water in some. No cleaning and stinking carpets. No indication of Lift working! Dirty Bar on the 7th floor. Dirty swimming Pool. Front side rooms road noise back side rooms gutter smell and road dust. Very old and no maintenance. But staff are talking sweet and co-operative.

our travel agent in egypt (ramses travel agent) booked us this hotel for our stay in cairo. they said it's a 4 star hotel and good hotel. our mistake was that we didn't check through this site before.
the hotel is in very bad condition, run down, old and dirty. it won't get even a 1 star hotel rating in other countries.
the only good thing is the friendly staff.
we shared this because we don't want other travelers having bad experience like us in this hotel.

DO NOT GO. Unless you like cocroaches and bed bugs in your bed. Hints: Never leave your toilet stuff in the bathroom. Hang ALL your belongings on the hooks or hangers. Strip bed of all textile and sleep only on the blanket. Keep all lights on during night - bugs are afraid of the light. Seal all used cloth in plastic bag well as bugs like to reside there and sterilize it when you return home.

I do not know why these people are complaining so much, i found the hotel to be very clean and pleasant, the staff were extremely helpful and i enjoyed my time there. i could see the pyramids from my balcony and it only cost me ten pounds a night to stay there. i know some people like to complain a lot over something not so major, i have seen them do it and quite frankly most of what they say and think is untruthful...the only time they bother to say anything in writing is when they want to complain about something....they would never thank or congratulate a hotel for their service as this would be too time consuming, but badmouthing a perfectly good hotel is a much easier thing to do...nerver believe all that you read, its best to find out things for yourself and not rely on hearsay.

My poor husband booked this hotel as a package deal and was so embarrassed to have taken me there! After talking with our friends, we learned that the hotel was once very popular with tourists but the owner was arrested for some illegal money laundering and since the hotel has been in shambles.

Our first room that night had a A/C that was broken (does not help in Eypt!), the ceilings were peeling, the bathtub was filthy, not only with dirt but with stains of some sort. We found a dead roach and a dirty cup under the bed. We were afraid to go barefoot in the room. Luckily, they were kind enough to switch us to a new room. The AC at least worked but it leaked. We told them numerous times to fix it and they didn't. The only reason we grinned and beared it was because we weren't able to change our reservations when we booked online with the company and didn't want to lose our money (the downfall with package deals!). In addition, it was the cheapest and we at least didn't lose a lot of money when we stayed in different cities. There were weddings every night which after the first three, you get tired of them as they were quite noisy. The food? Oh, let's not even go there!

Redeeming qualities: the view of the pyramids; the people were nice; the best part- we were able to bargain the prices of taxis- I think the drivers felt bad that we stayed at such a place!

  • Liked — The taxis (if they came) were willing to give us cheap prices- they knew we must not have had a lot of money bec of where we stayed!
  • Disliked — Everything
