“Hospitality with a view”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

This is a wonderful place to start your exploration of Cairo. The host is so friendly and helpful that it make you feel very safe and cozy here. The best part is that they will pick you right from the airport even before immigration for just $20. You can have dinner on the terrace with a free view of the light and sound show (order food through guest house). The only reason I am giving 4 star instead of 5 is because the guides and drivers arranged by the guest house were not as reliable as I expected- they would let their acquaintance like camel riders take advantage of you. I also had the experience where the taxi arranged by the guest house to airport tried to charge me way beyond the normal price. Still, it is better than a random pick unless you know someone else more reliable.

This hotel is situated write in front of the pyramids. There's no better location. There's a pizzahut and KFC one block away for those picky eaters. The main thing I want to point out is the service provided by Guardian Guest House. I've never felt any safer. They wait for you with the sign with your name where you pick up your bags at the airport not outside of the airport. They have a big bus very spacious to place your bags and the driver is very careful, never felt any safer in a motor vehicle especially in a place like Cairo where there are no traffic lights. Everyone is very welcoming and caring. I only stood there for one day and half arriving 4/21 8am left 4/22 6pm and we were able to visit the pyramids, museum and had dinner at a local spot they took us to where the shish kebab was to die for the food was delicious at every location they recommended and it was only $10usd per person. I am still craving the authentic food from Egypt.

The rooms are very spacious the windows are huge with a perfect view of the pyramids. The rooftop is huge and they have chairs to sit upstairs. The bathrooms are inside the rooms and are decent. Is a very comfortable and clean place to stay. Beds were comfortable. They have AC.

Our tour guide Youssef was the best! Had quite a sense of humor and was very knowledgable.
Big thanks to Abdul who picked us up from the airport and dropped us off. He even helped us check-in and waited for us as we checked in through security to make sure we were in safe, on our departure. He made us feel like family and even assisted us in filling out our documents. Abdul even went looking for me went I snook out to visit pyramids view Inn. I mean he was very attentive and responsible for our safety. Hence the name guardian.

The people who run this place go above and beyond to make sure you feel safe and comfortable. i never felt so welcomed and cared for at any other vicinity and I've traveled quite often. My recommendation if you want to see the pyramids this is the best place to stay is inexpensive, rooms are huge!!!!! they cary your bags up and down, they pick you up inside the airport and drop you off and the places they choose to eat must be the best because the food was delicious. Just book It!!! Theres no need to look any further and this is coming from a person who spent many sleepless nights trying to find a perfect place and was very doubtful of this place.

The best possible place to stay overnight in Giza---right in front of the Sphinx and the pyramid area. Unbelievable staff helping you with everything. There are no problems that can not be solved. They are knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I come back year after year to stay here and to have time in Giza. There is a lovely terrace on the roof of the house.

Room Tip: Take a room with a view of the Sphinx.

This is the way I want to experience Egypt: with contact to real people. You have a real sense of being there in the heart of the Giza village, directly in front of the Sphinx---not isolated in a hotel for international tourists. Our group enjoyed horse rides around and up to the pyramids. Trips to other sites like Sakkara were easily arranged by Abdulla. In fact, his knowledge and advice is a huge bonus for the visit. Watching the sun set over the pyramids from the rooftop was a precious memory. Mornings drinking tea in the fresh air too. Everyone was so courteous and kind. It was fun to chat with the other guests about their adventures. Staying here was the best part of my Egypt experience!

Guardian Guest House was a great discovery! The situation just couldn't be better for visiting the pyramids and Sphinx and the accommodation was clean and comfortable with really effective air-con - 24 hour tea-making facilities really added to the experience, especially drinking it while looking out over the Giza necropolis.
The breakfast was lots better than average and all our needs were looked after. The place was relaxed and friendly, and lots of good advice available when needed. I really felt looked-after and will head back next time I visit Giza.
It was great sitting on the roof and watching the sound and Light - even better just seeing the sun set behind the pyramids. It was great to turn off the air-con and open the window at night knowing the mozzies can't get in as there was a screen over the window. for some reason this was the first I've encountered on my visits to Egypt. Our room wasn't overlooked, except by the Sphinx!!, and the pyramid view room was worth the extra for me.
