Owner description: Perhaps the most recognizable among the Seven Wonders of the World, the exact origin of these majestic pyramids continues to spark debate.

We visited Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza - The Pyramids are awe inspiring and the visit spiritual. The Majesty of the Giza and the Pyramids Towering above WOW we were fortunate to see this wonder. This is a must if you can BUT be prepared for extreme poverty and filth that's Cairo the local beggars and trinket salesmen are in your face and space all the time one has to be hard and walk away from them and dismiss them firmly.

If I have one thing to say about the pyramids of Giza, is GO SEE THEM NOW! It is one of the most amazing trips you will ever take. Yes, it is one of the 7 wonders of the world and there's a reason for that. The pyramids of Giza are beyond amazing. They are majestic. Despite the negative media towards Egypt, it is safe so go see them and make sure you ride a camel around the pyramids. SO SO SO amazing!!!!!!!!!

Travelled to the Pyramids with a group on the Seabourn Quest ship. This was a long drive from the port and it eventually took over four and a half hours. I think the greatest disappointment was the incredible amount of rubbish and filth in Egypt and it seems there is little pride there.
At the Pyramids you are continually hassled by camel drivers and hawkers. Two tricks are never let them use your camera to photograph you as you will have to pay to get your camera back and never shake their hand unless you really want to buy from them.
Another trick is if you have sunglasses on your head they will try to wrap one of their hard coverings around you to show you how it is done and ten remove together with your glasses.
Apart from that the fact that you can stand and touch the Pyramids of some 3-4000 years old is magical and not to be missed.
You should not miss seeing the sphinx also. I would suggest that arriving as early as possible would also benefit.

Having travelled the world, the pyramids are doubtless one of THE manmade wonders one ought to see. Is it worth braving Cairo, first of all (the worlds unfriendliest tourist destination),
then deep into the slums surrounding the isolated monuments, braving the locals tearing at your arms, trying to intimidate / cajole / terrorise some money out of you for something as you struggle through the slums with "your" guide beating off (literally) the competition? No, it is not.

We visited Egypt, at the start of a 12 week trip of a lifetime, and absolutely loved the Pyramids! It
Is so surreal to see them, and then look below them and you are surrounded by the city. Lucky for us there were hardly any tourist there, not lucky for Egypt, which relies on tourists. We went inside
2 of the Pyramids, and climbed up several ramps of stairs into tombs! The Ancient Egyptians were
very smart, to have achieved what they did! I was in awe of them! We then had a camel ride around the Pyramids, which was great fun! Just be careful about tipping, most of our money went on tips! Everyone should see the Pyramids in their lifetime
