Like the previous reviewer, we were slightly worried by some of the dodgy reviews of the Husa on TripAdvisor. We were arriving at the airport at midnight and only needed somewhere to rest our heads for a few hours before a trip to the pyramids in the morning.

We were very pleasantly surprised. We were asked if we wanted a quiet room or a room with a view and chose the former. We were shown to room 807 which had obviously been recently refurbished and which was spotlessly clean.

Not an enormous room but space for two large single beds, a table and two chairs, a wardrobe and a dressing table. The bathroom had been refurbished too and was pretty much faultless, except for some remaining masking tape and some tiny splatters of paint from the redecoration. Excellent hairdryer and shower.

The beds were perfectly comfortable and we both had an excellent night's sleep.

The breakfast was probably the best we've had in a budget hotel in Egypt. A large buffet spread with an omelette station and a selection of both Egyptian and Western foods. Decent brewed coffee too.

There's even a small swimming pool which looked perfectly inviting.

If we had paid the rack rate of 95USD the hotel would probably have only merited a three star review, but as we picked it up for only 30USD it deserves full marks for truly excellent value for money.

Given the mixed reviews for this hotel on Trip Advisor, we were slightly apprehensive about this hotel and had no reason to be. We did stay in another hotel in downtown Cairo which was more expensive and found that our money went further in this hotel. Now it is still a budget hotel, but my standards for cleanliness were met. Our room was cleaned everyday and the hotel cleaner was very pleasant and friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was average and unchanging, but was decent and fed us every morning. The distance to the pyramids is great and were happy with our view from our room as well. We booked two day tours with the hotel tour center and although they quoted us prices that seemed expensive, Omar drove us both times and was courteous, friendly, punctual and even attempted to decline the second tip my husband gave him! This surprised us considering most people who offer a service will blatantly ask for a tip! So we insisted that he take it. Overall good stay for a budget hotel.

We booked our trip through europeanvacations.com. Every hotel they recommended was excellent, including this one. We were a little concerned about going to Egypt, but the hotel and their staff made us feel very comfortable, and very safe. We were a little scared our first night, as there was a very loud siren that seemed to go off randomly. In the morning we found out that the siren was just the masque located near the hotel signaling it is time to pray. I would not suggest going anywhere on your own in Egypt, unless you know the people and the area. The hotel was very accommodating in providing us a tour guide/body guard to make our trip comfortable. I would highly recommend our tour guide, Nasir (Not quite sure how to spell his name, but that’s how it is pronounced). He was so great and took great care of us! Anywhere else we wanted to go, the hotel immediately had a chafer for us. Unless you’re accustomed to Egyptian food, I would not recommend anything unfamiliar on the restaurant menu, and the service was great at the restaurant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. If you do go to Egypt, I would suggest arriving in the afternoon, so you don't have to ride in the dark, trust me, arriving in the daylight will ease some worries you may have.

I'm giving this hotel four starts simply because of what you get for what you pay compared to other hotels in Cairo. Now, the rooms at this place are a bit grotty, it's far from any Metro station, and the road outside is very noisy but you do get a good view of the Pyramids from the upstairs dining room (and even some of the rooms), the staff, by and large, are nice (especially the older gentleman who works in the upstairs dining room who let us take a picture of the Pyramids without having to buy anything), the included breakfast was one of the best we had in Egypt, the lobby is very nice, and the hotel offers free internet in the business centre. All that for a fraction of what you pay at a lot of other hotels in Cairo. It definitely a good choice especially if you just need a place to stay for a night or two.

Honestly, I was apprehensive about this hotel as the reviews were no very good in various travel portals. My experience was much happier. I have reasons to complain!Like just 6 channels on TV and all in Arabic! (But then have you come to Egypt to see the Pyramids or watch TV?). Again, no wifi connection in the rooms, but only in the lobby where itself the signals were rather weak. The food was very good and so was the rooms. The hotel is not too far from Nile river or the Pyramids. A very good stay and good value for money.
