Owner description: At over 240 feet long and 66 feet high, it’s a wonder that this mysterious sculpture was carved from a solid limestone block.

The great sphinx is just one of those things you have to see in your life. At school you learn all about these things and to stand there with it right in front of you is just incredible. It is a lot smaller than i thought but so worth the visit. And because of the political situation in Egypt at the moment there are no tourists so an awesome time to visit.

best place in the world, beautifull peacefull and very spiritual,, pyramids is a must, to be seen and the sphinx..... it is one of the best sight seeing trips ever, and it all lights up at night, make sure you go to the pyramids light show, when it is on in your language.... you can take a camel ride, horse ride or horse and cart ride, around the pyramids, if you don't want to walk.... fantastic place... for travellers, one of the 7 wonders of the world. It is quiet dusty and very hot, so make sure you have the correct clothing on, so you don't burn out there in the s. desert.... not advisable to wear white clothes, and they do hassle you a bit, so be carefull

Yes.
Great place to visit. Try and ignore all of the hawkers and beggers etc - although you might struggle.

The Sphinx is amazing and so are the pyramids at Giza. All within walking distance, or you can ride a Camel if you want, or hire a taxi.

It does get a bit dusty and dirty so don't wear your James Bond dinner suit.

Some might offer a visit inside one of the Pyramids, which is not really permitted, but pretty cool all the same. I think we paid about US$10 for that - which is a decent amount of cash for some of these folk.

Sunset is good too. Great photo ops.
The light show (if still running) is also pretty cool.

You can't go to Cairo and not see the Giza pyramids.

(Note: it was before 2012 when we visited but that was the earliest date I could choose fro this website.)

We visited great Sphinx back in 2009. After visiting great Pyramids, we follow our guide to the largest monolith statue in the world, The Great Sphinx of Giza, a statue of a reclining lion with a human head. The overall majestic scene was really adorable which have Pyramids in the back of great Sphinx. It is really adorable. We also took some photographs with Sphinx like hugging pose :) It take 15-20 minutes from Pyramid point to reach this place. There is no extra charges for visiting the place. You should also see the evening laser & lighting show as per the language choice and time availability for the better management of your Egypt trip. This was the best time in the whole day for us, as the breezy air was flowing all around. More details and photographs at:

This is a wonderful site in the pyramids area. It can be accessed while touring the pyramids very easily. A short walk down to it and you're there. You can take a camel or horse ride to it as well or just walk. If you choose the horse or camel be sure to agree on the price before because it may shock you with what they want to charge. You cannot be right up to it like the pyramids but if you are already there do go and have a look.
