Seeing the Sphinx structure in person was really great.
This is a very busy tourist destination so make sure you are with your group always. The entrance is a bit crowded as it is narrow and groups gather for explanation about the Sphinx.

The Sphinx structure from a single piece of limestone is amazing. It was nice to take pictures with the Pyramids in the background.

There are many vendors selling all type of Handicrafts. You need to bargain and make sure to carry small change in USD as generally ot is best to give exact change.

Be aware of your surroundings and always take care of your belongings.

You gotta go see this early. This is in the same complex pretty much as the pyramids.. It’s pretty large however you may think it’s not as large in person. My lady thought different. It can get really crowded so go early and see this first before really looking at the pyramids. Read my review for the pyramids regarding a guide for this area.

Amazing ancient piece of statue protecting the pyramids.
No one able to get close but you can get a beautiful panoramic view of the entire area.
Poor Sphinx has to stare at a pizza hut all day.
So sad

Just a cool experience to get close to this world famous monument. It’s a great cap to a visit to the pyramids at Giza.

It’s walled off so you can’t touch it, but you can still get great unobstructed views. There will be crowds, so it might take a wait to get the photo you want.

Simply amazing and a must visit. I recommend getting a guide because there is a lot of rumor and misinformation about the history of the Sphinx.

The sphinx is currently being renovated and is in incredible condition considering it's age. It is well worth a visit; along with a photo or 2.

Truly marvellous, stunning views. Don’t be tempted to do this on your own. We arranged a full day with guide in aircon mini van for 4 persons £68 each including lunch. Best to start early. We spent morning visiting the pyramids and sphinx and the afternoon at Saqqara temple complex. You can get up close to all and photo opps are incredible. You can also go inside the main Pyramid but note, you have steep walks, very enclosed and you climb crouching most of the way. Surprisingly you can climb the Pyramids too. The areas are cordoned off but beware you will be approached by locals offering all sorts. If you try and take a photo of a camel the owner expects to be paid, if you give your camera to someone and they take a photo for you they expect to be paid. Getting on a Camel is free of charge, don’t, its a fortune to get off unless you agreed a price first! That said I did pay a chap 100LE £4 and he took some amazing photos for us at the Sphinx. Sphinx is amazing. Saqqara is well worth a visit too and as your set behind the Pyramids at Giza you get an amazing view (see pics). At all 3 areas you have plenty of time and can easily fit into one day. You’ll be tired at the end. Plan for 12500 steps (and quite a few climbing).

We traveled to see the Sphinx and pyramids because of the amazing energies we'd read about prior to our arrival. We were so psyched to be there at 11:11 am on 11/11. How exhilarating! We had been warned by our guide not to allow "photographers" to take our pictures; however, some of our best shots with the Sphinx came from these young Egyptian men. We tipped them for their services. We, however, felt we were "taken" by our guide. He charged us way more than what I just saw advertised on Trip Advisor. Even though that experience really angered me, it did not cloud my experience being in the presence of these mighty architecture wonders!

Get a guide, get a guide, get a guide! EMO tours does a day trip very reasonably priced = make sure you make arrangements before you go and don';t hire on site. It makes the whole experience much more pleasant and informative. Plus the guides have secret little paths to take you on and stories you will not hear just everywhere...

It's an amazing structure - don't miss it.
