The night show gives you a different perspective of the Pyramids, although the audio really does not add that much.

Giza is where you go to see the pyramids, sphinx and other Egyptian attractions.
During the day the majesty and ancient history is easy to see, to walk over and to go under-ground to explore tombs and other antiquities.
At night, the place to add a dimension to this world-famous tourist drawcard, is to experience the Giza Sound and Light Show where the music, the lights and the story keep you spellbound.
I found it so interesting I had to stop myself from photographing madly and not concentrating on the 40 minute story which was being played out on the sphinx and the five pyramids in front of us.
The story-teller has plenty to share, the lighting is beautiful with the creative lighting on the sphinx taking it from a rather bland day-time sandy colour to a grand Egyptian head with all the colour and creativity of the head-gear you see on Tutankhamun's bust.
Generally it is an interesting narrative about the rule of ancient Egyptians - but it is surely highlighted by the ''film'' that moves over the huge natural 'screen' that is the pyramids and the sphinx.
We had been told that this Sound and Light Show was the best one to go to in Egypt so we kept the attraction until we got to Giza, near Cairo. It did not disappoint.
I cannot remember what we paid but it was a deal with the taxi people in our hotel lobby. This is the safest way to go out at night, especially as things are still not settled in Egypt.
The Giza Sound and Light Show is very well presented, even if you are not lucky enough to be at the front you get a very good view of the massive show from half way down where we were.
Most interesting and informative show.

Amazing show worth it for the history of the pyramids and the spectral light show. They do the show every two hours in English and German so get the local timetable.

We went to the Sound and Light show as part of our package with our hotel, and we had front row seats. It is really cool to see the Pyramids lit up on different colours, and it's great to hear about the history of the Pyramids. Definitely worth going to if you're in the area or staying near by.
