Nice Hotel , Nice staff ,and lovely breakfast too , room was good maybe littel small . the best things is free internet ..:)
My only prob is a long way from the Downtown of Cairo, and aiport ...

Nice hotel ,seems even like a castle,big clean rooms,awesome breakfast,helpful stuff,piano in the lobby,swimming poll.But they dont have an exchange servise,you got bank across the street Would absolutly love to come back. You have some little shops around the corner if u need to buy water or some small stuff.I was with a groap on 3 day tour-we visited piramidas,market,papirus and parfume factory,museum,that didnt have air conditioner:p ;took a boat trip with dinner and belly dancing any way a lot of positive expirience.Some little tips dont try to cross the road alone-the cars never stop,do it with some locals.Theu dont have traffic lights at all,only in the centre,and not always working or drivers paing attention.Bring dollars in small bills,cause they dont love to give a change and for tips.When in the market go far inside if u want some nice place to it.U can buy papiris 10 for 3 dollars,not of a quallity,better try paparus factory.All the shops start to work in the evening usually-we went for a walk on sunday morning center of the city-everything was closed.And light show-not worth it.And bring ur own spirits,ppl here dont drink alcohol,so its hard to find and when yes it costs a fortune
Was lot of fun ,next time i think to take 7 days trip with cruise to Alecsandria

This hotel is about one year old which shows. The hotel is very fresh, Adequate rooms, friendly staff, free wifi in the whole hotel, a nice pool (with a soon fully constructed pool bar as well) and a nice restaurant on the top floor with a distant view of the pyramids. You can even take a glimpse of the sound and light show from the roof. However, if you are going to stay for a long time in the hotel, you might find the choice of food a little bit boring in the end. The hotel boasts 4 places to eat but the choice of food is a bit so-so. The top floor restaurant is ok - nice staff!. The dinner buffet is served in the breakfast restaurant (which have the feeling of a school dining hall) which gave that we didn't tried this place in the evening. The breakfast is however EXCELLENT!
The choice of eating local food outside the hotel is limited. There is a 7-floor tourist free shoping center 200m towards the pyramids with a pizza joint and a arabic hamburger fast food chain. On the other side of pyramids roads there is more choices (there is also other hotels) but you'll have to walk more to find local eateries - and you'll have to cross the road! There is however a underground passage a couple of 200m towards Cairo center if you don't want to cross kamikaze way ("local style").
The area around the hotel is really not adapted for tourists, but it's great fun to walk among the locals and enjoy their way of daily life. Coffee shops on the street everywhere after 7-8 PM. Money exchange office less than 100m from the hotel towards the pyramids with reasonable exchange rates.

Stay at the Barcelo for 5 nights, on our first night we had a room facing the roadside i recommend to change your room if it is facing the roadside as there is constant noise from the cars on the road all night into morning!!! The Buffet was sufficent and the service was ok. The rooms are very clean and modern, the bathrooms were ok . I recommend not getting invovled with the hotel taxi service as the drivers try intially to get you to use their services if you are not on a tour, they will offer to take you around, prices per day not bad however they take you buy VERY EXPENSIVE papyrus and perfumes!!!!! We only found out from looking around by ourselves that they pocket half the money you spend on the papyrus and perfumes that they take you to buy from store owners they have arrangements with. Other than that the hotel is very comfortable stay!!

Really enjoyed the few nights we had here, it is a haven in this crazy bonkers city.
Only negatives about our stay:
1. shower - was lovely, but you had to run it for 10 mins before you got any hot water, then it was fine - just meant getting up 10 mins earlier each morning!
2. noise - we were on the "quiet" side of the hotel, but the room next door had some form of enginey thing in it and was constantly buzzing/humming. Got used to it in the end and after reading other reviews on here we didn't want to move rooms in case we got put on the noisy side of the building!
Would definitely recommend this hotel though, breakfast was lovely and the staff very friendly. Also great location

I stayed at Barcelo Pyramids Hotel for 3 nights from 21st June, 2010. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this lovely hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff was very helpful and polite. The bed was very firm (which I don’t normally like) but somehow, it was still really comfortable to sleep on. The pillows were lovely, the linen was snowy white and the bathroom was spacious with a hairdryer and even a magnifying mirror, which I thought was a really nice touch. The wifi and cable in my room worked very well. The breakfast was OK… but nothing special, and, the juice was only mixed up cordial… if you want REAL fruit juice, they charge 30LE for that…. Considering you can buy fresh mango juice at a little fresh juice shop in the street for 1.5LE, I thought it was miserable of them not to have fresh juice included in the breakfast buffet. In general, the quality of the food is an area where Barcelo Pyramids Hotel could improve. The prices were relatively high and the taste was just OK. The restaurants/food aside, everything else was great and very good value. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
