“Good hotel”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

I was stay in this hotel on June 2013 during my group tour visit Cairo Egypt. The property was clean, I like the Lobby with very simple but nice furniture not too big. But the coffee shop, you have to climb the step to go there and it will not suitable for old people. The breakfast menu was completed. From appetizer to dessert and they provided variety of pastries everyday. Egg corner also available.
The room was big enough and clean but, i didnt get any pyramid view from my room. The TV chanel mostly arabic language chanel, the bathroom was small enough with the amenities. The hotel located in the busy street and very crowded also dirty area ( I think all in Cairo mostly like this ) and because we are travelled in the group tourr, fortunately we only spent night in this hotel because every morning we leave early for tour.
They also clean my room everyday

This hotel promises views of the pyramids from your bedroom, but all we got was a view of dirty buildings and a very busy nioisy stree. The noisy is so bad that you can't get any rest, all you here all day long and all night long is hooting and hooting. This hotel is located in Giza which is near the pyramids and its very run down and very dirty. The breakfast is very poor, not worth the $15.00 they expect. The drinks are also very expensive. The staff however cannot be faulted.
Won't recommend as the rooms are too small. Cheap but not worth your time.

Room Tip: If you want to stay here e sure to ask for a room that faces the pyramids. I think there are only tw...

Dear Guest,
First of all, let me thank you for sharing with us your opinion about the hotel.
and then I would like to express my apology for any annoyance that may caused to you during your stay
As you might have seen the hotel is located in a very busy street and that is the main reason for the noise, especially at the night time. That’s why all the windows have double glass but we assure you that we are working on improving their quality.
Looking forward to welcome you once again at our hotel and hopping that the next stay at Barceló Cairo Pyramids will be more enjoyable.

This is not a 4 star hotel, the bathroom floor and tub in our room was heavily scratched/ stained. Besides that, we have noticed other random things as well. We have found a kid loitering around the pool in middle of the day. He was swimming in his underwear and was not supervised by his parents or any adults. Based on his interactions with the hotel staff, he didn't appear to be a hotel guest. On another occasion, we found a cat walking up and down the main foyer stairs. As a 4 star hotel, I really dont think you should have cats in the building. I am asthmatic and allergic to cat and dog furs, having a permanent cat in the hotel means their fur can get into the central air conditioning system and causes potential trigger to my asthma. If I wasn't so tired at the time, I would've complained to the hotel staffs.

Mixed feelings on this hotel. First of all the lobby and pool are very nice. The breakfast buffet was quite adequate and offered an ever changing variety of foods. The staff however was aloof. The junior suite we stayed in however was another issue all together. The hallways to the rooms are dark and could use a could vacuuming. After we checked in we noticed that the AC was not working…about 2 hours later they sent someone to fix it and eventually over our 4 days stay the temp did come down slowly to a reasonable 75 degrees. Also the floor in the room was gritty. On the morning of our second day, we asked the receptionist at front desk, who typically seemed bothered by most requests, to ask housekeeping to do a better job sweeping the floors. We also left $5 dollars on the bed which made all the difference, after this the room seemed to be much cleaner. However, the rooms themselves are smallish. Ours had a view into a shaft between two buildings, which may have been a blessing in disguise as this may have kept some of the incessant road noise down, and just over all there was plaster chunks missing out of the walls, large holes had been cut and sort of patched in the ceiling, and the bathroom grout was dark and stained. On the brighter side the bed was clean and comfortable, and after all that is the main function of a hotel room. I guess in summary I would look around before staying here again, even if it costs a little more.

I needed a business hotel that avoided downtown traffic and gave me good access to the Marytouea road to the south. The Barcelo in that sense was well located. However there is literally nothing in the locality so if you have visions of popping out for a nice meal then think again - and pay the extra money for Zamalek.

It's a perfectly good, reasonbly priced hotel in a city that is really suffering right now from a lack of tourism. Many hotels in Giza are as good as empty, which is incredibly sad. The staff at the Barcelo tried their best and in many respects were great, but there were one or two moments that made me grind my teeth.

The internet signal seems to have got worse, which is an absolute pain for business travellers. Please sort that out, it couldn't be more important.

The food is fine, nothing special.

The best thing about it right now is the price, which is frankly very good for what you get. You can pay double this price in Cairo and get a worse hotel, that's for sure.

Room Tip: Go high - Cairo is a noisy city so the higher you are the less chance of sleep being disrupted.

Visited this hotel on the last week of May 2013. The hotel has really nice interior and facilities such a swimming pool, Gymn, Saloon, Spa for massage, and sauna. The rooms are lovely too.
However the hotel is located about 5 KM away from the Pyramids in Al Gizzar area. The location of the hotel is surrounded by heavy traffic and very dirty too. But it's manageable all the same. Lot's of natives to assist or con you. There are lots of shops/ mini malls to grab gifts from and supplies.
There was a guy by the reception who was not very helpful - As a matter of fact he was rude and If you book online you get free internet. Which I only discovered about 24hrs before check out. Very unprofessional of the front desk not to advise me as I'd booked online.
Most single rooms don't have a kettle with in-room tea. So you have to get it for yourself from the lobby downstairs. Or call in for room service and pay for it. My room had a problem with hot water - you got to run the tap for at least 5 -10 mins before it becomes warm. The refrigerator was also not working, never cools the drinks. But in a nutshell, Barcelo Cairo pyramids is lovely. Dont forget to try the Petti di Pollo at the Nefeteri Restaurant..

Room Tip: Make sure you confirm about the free internet when you book this hotel online. There are no room ke...

We came to check in and had to wait for the room nearly two hours.
Which we had to go and ask for the room as no staff came to tell as what was happening or how much longer we had to wait. Even we were siting at the seats nearest to the counter.
We got the rooms it was very small and VERY NOISY !
It was sleepless as you know how noisy the Egypt roads are with all the beeping and stuff.
It was so poor compared with the price as i think it was quite expensive.
The Breakfast was good thought and also the swimming pool.
But I wouldn't come back here as there are some more nice hotels with the same price range for you too choose.
