In the busy chaos of a large city like Cairo (even more chaotic currently), this place is a good choice. The standard of the accomodation is high (I stayed in an Executive room), and the public areas are well maintained. WiFi as others have mentioned was extremely good and better than most hotels of this brand in mainland Europe.
Security is pretty tight, and whilst this means the Citystars complex is a somewhat sanitised place to spend time, if you're looking for a hassle free visit this does help.
Ate some excellent food in the Indian restaurant which was accompanied by excellent service, and the breakfast buffet was good too. Most staff were extremely courteous, although the check-in and check-out was a little lackluster. More of a smile would be good...!
It's not so far to get to downtown Cairo/Giza if the traffic is good (circa 40 minutes via the ringroad to Pyramids), but obviously a lot worse during rush hour. 15-20 minutes to the airport also.
I only booked a couple of days before arriving, and whilst the price was fairly high, I feel the hotel met my expectations.More
