“la Bodega !!!”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

This Restaurant is an amazing place for couples who don’t mind “ACCTUALLY” hearing each other while talking , romantic dinners
Also very nice for “girls night out”, no one will bother you in any way
They have a separate more quite area that could be used for business dinners/launches also very elegant
The food is excellent really
Staff is friendly and keep getting friendlier when they see more of you…
The only downside is that the last order for food is quite early 11.30 (compared to Cairo night life) they might want to consider postponing that a bit
And the restaurant/lounge/bar close around 12/12.30 and 1/1.30 am max in weekends! They used to open for longer hours
Nice area but make sure you arrive with at least 15 mins to waste looking for a parking spot if you’re driving.

Dont miss it if in Zamalek pass by...

“Great vegetarian set menu options!”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

We made a reservation for 7pm, somewhat early for this time of year and conflicting with iftar (meal for breaking fast during Ramadan). When we arrived, Aperitivo, which was where we thought we had made reservations, was closed. But the folks at Bistro (right next door and also part of La Bodega) ushered us in and said that Aperitivo is closed during Ramadan. There is also no alcohol served during Ramadan...probably explain why there was only one other diner the whole time we were there (7-9pm).
As vegetarians, we were thrilled to see that they actually had a vegetarian set menu page with two options for each of 3 courses. My wife and I sampled each and all were delicious!! They included a Mexican gazpacho, a cubed cheese and eggplant dish, veggie lasagna (very interesting take, with very light pasta and cheese and mostly veggies - very tasty!!), couscous with veggies and tomato soupy stuff (and interesting sweet-spicy sauce to add), sherbet and fruit salad. All of this, and each set was just 62LE!! The meal also started with a good assortment of breads - the cheese/bread sticks were particularly good.
Our waiter was Carlos(?), and he was excellent.
Definitely plan to go back!

“Cairo's ultimate restaurant and Bar - Not to be missed!”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

I never get tired of this place which is actually an old renovated apartment in an apartment building in Zamalak. With high ceilings typical of old Cairo architecture, you feel like you're visiting a glamorous friend's home. The food is out of this world. The beef fillet is to die for. The service is great! No one leave Labodega without a smile on his face
