Good comfortable beds, great views overlooking the Nile, super friendly staff, great decor, explendid bathroom and very clean overall, what else could you ask for in a Hotel?!

After long days in the chaos that is Cairo, coming back to our room was great. The restaurants are on the expensive side so I only dined once and had breakfast once, both times I had a great meal and excellent service, the price I didn´t love but you would pay way more if you where in Vegas. There is a mall in the building with a Starbucks and a place that sells really good pizza and other restaurants cheaper than the ones in the hotel so we had no problem whatsoever.

Interntet is FREE, all you have to do is enroll in the Fairmont Presidents Club, I did it before booking it only took me 3 minutes. And on our second stay they upgraded me for free.

I feel bad for the people giving bad reviews for this hotel, but to them I say "Try to find a better place in Cairo, I dare you"

Room Tip: Get the Nile view room, it´s worth it. Enroll on the Fairmont Presidents Club, it gives acces to fr...

The Nile City Fairmont is only around 3 years old so all fittings are in good order. Staff are well trained and extremely helpful in all areas. The roof swimming pool has spectacular views and has some shady areas for when the heat gets too much. Food in the restaurants seems slightly hot and miss. The Saigon Restaurant seems not to hit the mark for tastes whereas the lobby food is excellent. Breakfasts are good though getting coffee in the quieter smoking section can require a couple of asks. Happy hour in the lobby for local beers and wines makes drinking between 4 and 7 pm good value.

Room Tip: Joint the Fairmont Presidents club before you visit for free WiFi and hopefully an upgraded room.

This hotel is a great location for visiting the Museum.(Cairo traffic is the worst in the world) Overlooks the Nile. No gardens, hotel is right on the street and looks more or less like an office building. Our first thought on arrival was to clean the coffee cup stains on the bench above the mini bar, but they were indelibly imprinted. The black marble throughout is a little claustrophobic for me. For Cairo this would be five star, but its really probably a four. Staff and food were both excellent but overall a forgettable experience.

I stayed at the Fairmont for 4 days in February 2013 during a business trip. The overall experience was very disappointing for the following reasons:

- over priced internet, 25$ for every 24h... or 10$ for every 30m.. this is not acceptable in world class hotels anymore in 21st century. I recommend u buy a mobinil modem for 5$ that u connect easily to ur laptop which gives u internet everywhere u go

- problem in the bathroom with dosing hot water... the flow comes in very cold then very hot alternatively... one might get burnt, not very practical for showers

- during the WE, there is a LOUD nightclub at the feet of the hotel's tower there is no roof nor insonorisation equipment, don't expect to sleep before 3am

That said the staff is very friendly and professional, they reimbursed me with the 25dol of internet I paid upon arrival and this was a classy gesture.

We stayed at the Fairmont Nile City for 2 nights in March 2013. We booked a triple room with Nile view and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Junior Suite (the bathroom was huge with bath, several vanity areas, a walk-in rainfall shower, separate loo and we were provided with high quality toiletries, bathrobes, slippers and essential oils for the bath). We were picked up from the airport by a driver arranged by the hotel, and they had thoughtfully provided us with an English speaking driver (Omar), who pointed out places of interest on the journey to the hotel. From the moment we stepped into the lobby our experience was nothing short of perfect. As we were checking in we were provided with a non-alcoholic pina colada, very refreshing after our first experience of the craziness that is Cairo! The bell man showed us round our room which was very comfortable with a fantastic view of the Nile from a private balcony (with chaises longues so you could really relax with a drink and take in the view!). Our every need was catered for during our stay and the staff were very helpful in providing us with everything we asked for and the service was impeccable. One evening we ate in the Onyx Lounge and found the food very good and extremely reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. The hotel is directly linked to a mall which has a few shops and a few places to eat or have a snack (Starbucks, pizzeria, Lebanese). The location of the hotel is great, not far from downtown Cairo and Zamalek, although getting anywhere in Cairo takes forever because of the traffic! After a day sightseeing at the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum, going back to the calm and relaxation of the hotel was pure bliss! Our only criticism was that there was no free Wifi, even in the lobby. You could pay £5 (GBP) for 30 minutes internet per 24 hours, not really a problem for us but could be annoying if you need more access to the internet.

After hearing favorable reviews, I decided to book a Signature room. The room size was okay, but several things were not adequate. The items one would expect in a desk were scattered throughout the room. The chair in the room was uncomfortable. The balcony chairs were too deep to sit naturally. When I checked into the room I saw someone elses name on the tv welcoming screen. Thought it was no big thing, but mentioned it to the people at the reception area. Later in the day I was looking for messages on the tv screen and saw that it was listing messages for another room number. The name on the welcoming screen and room number listed for messages went together. Not mine. Told that to reception and they said they would fix it. Nothing was done. Later that night I spoke to another person who saw that it was fixed.
The sink in the bathroom did not drain. Mentioned it to the reception and they said they would send someone to fix it. No one came.

In the lounge the same food that was served for tea was served during happy hour. The only alcoholic beverages served were beer and wine. If you wanted a mixed drink you had to pay for it. For the amount one pays for a room it should be included. The drinks were served without a napkin and placed on a bare glass table.

Overall I was very disappointed.

We had the most amazing stay at the Fairmont in Cairo.

After completing a tour throughout Egypt we needed a few days to just relax and recharge, the Fairmont was the perfect place.

When we arrived to our room we were just blown away, it was the nicest place that I have ever stayed at. The bell man gave us a tour around our room and was very nice.

We ate both in the restaurant, which was stunning and the service was impeccable as well as the odd room service which was very easy & quick. The food was as good as a 5 star restaurant.

The pool was amazing, placed on the top of the building with a spectacular view of Cairo. The staff were very friendly, with the bar man even giving us a free smoothie to test out that he was hoping to put on the menu.

It was the most pleasant experience I have had at a hotel. I would definitely stay here again if I was to return to Egypt. Egypt is an amazing place and definitely an experience that needs to be had :)
