Apart from the engineering bit 6th October bridge is a very nice place to have a romantic walk in the evening. There are still people fishing fro the bridge at night with their custom made rods as well as home made ones.

“One of the bridges crossing the Nile. Very normalIt's just a bridge in the middle of the city”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

Nothing good or bad about it. It is not really an attraction, it's an elevated road that crosses rivers and populated areas and parks.. about 20KM long.. If you feel like parking your car and walking across parts of it, the one that crosses the Nile, very well, you'll get to see a great skyline of the city

“6th October Bridge”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

Traffic on the 6th October bridge was always congested. The streets were very noisy with drivers honking at each other etc. However, it is definitely an interesting place to visit as it reflects a lot on the Egyptian's life. Stalls are set up on the side of the street so that drivers can stop by to buy food. There are no real lanes and the divider in the middle that splits up the two way traffic is often disregarded.

It is also the route I take to get to work everyday when I was volunteering in Egypt for 2 months and thus I feel a sense of connection to it.

“Crowded City Conjunction”
Reviewed April 29, 2012

It joins most of Cairo together trying to make shortcuts to places, yet it's crowded. A shortcut in which you spend a lot of time to reach your destination.

“Yes it's just a bridge, but its over the Nile...”
Reviewed April 26, 2012

Sunset and in the evening it's a nice place to watch the water and the world go buy. There is people selling things, lovers chatting and you can see the river boats with music and fun going around the nile. If you like to live in the slow lane and enjoy what the locals like, stop here and enjoy!
