We were greeted by friendly staff who spoke good english. They demonstrated how a papyrus is made, it was fascinating to watch and learn. They had beautiful artwork and great prices. Great souvenier from Egypt.

“Lovely papyrus”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

After a brief demonstration of the process of preparing papyrus, there was time to enjoy the lovely, framed paintings which were displayed. The colors were vibrant, and the selection was outstanding. Each papyrus painting comes with a written guarantee and is packaged in a cylinder for safe travel. Salespersons were available to answer questions but did not force themselves on patrons. It was a pleasant, relaxing experience.

“Egyptian Scribe Papyrus Institute”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

We enjoyed our visit here very much. Some of the other reviewers must have gone to a different place than we did. First you get a lesson on how papyrus is made which was very interesting and informative. They person took long strips of papyrus reed and layed them out in horizontal and vertical layers to form a mat and then pounded it which is how papyrus has been made for thousands of years. We also got a history lesson on the importance of papyrus to Egypt. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the beautiful paintings on papyrus and there was never any high pressure tactics to buy a piece, which by the way we did. You see a lot of vendors around the pyramids trying to sell you papyrus paintings which are anything but authentic so it was nice to see the real thing in such a beautiful setting!

“Good place to get nice paintings on original papyrus paper”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

I like this place because it shows how the ancient Egyptians used the nature fro their needs, for example the papyrus paper it is a very good material survived after thousands of years with the same color as you can see in the Egyptian museum.
You can see there some the most important paintings from ancient Egypt like the Zodiac calender, Tree of life,& Final judgement.

“You can buy the best papyrus online with framing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012

Ive been to Egypt many times but the "tourist junk" floods the market unfortunately.

For genuine museum quality papyrus I recomend osirisreborn.com , they have really vibrant papyrus paintings that you can get shipped with framing.
