“Meh...”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

I have to say I was not impressed for a number of reasons. The people harassing you to buy their wares or get you on a camel or carriage is annoying There are these supposed "government" guides who can take you to normally off limit places, but it is all just to get money from you. I gave in to one of them because he was a old man, and he and another guy had the nerve to ask for more money after I gave them about 50 egyptian pounds - and that was after only 20 minutes or so. Females, be careful around there, especially if you are by yourself, because some of the men try to get frisky. I went earlier so avoided a big crowd. Am I glad I saw it? sure, but I am glad I only spent two days in Cairo for it and not longer.

“Be aware of the camel hustlers”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

The pyramids are an absolute wonder. It is well worth the ticket price to be able to climb inside and walk through the grand gallery to the burial chamber. Just be very aware of the people outside trying to get you on a camel. They will dress you up, even get you up on the camel and say it is all free, and then they won't let you down until you pay them. They completely ruin what otherwise was an amazing experience.

“underwhelmed”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

I know the pyramids are one of the wonders of the world, but on a cold windy day with touts fighting for your business outside the gates it is not pleasant. The area is unkempt and its first view through the slums is not good.

“Amazing to see”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

The plateau includes the great pyramid of Giza which is the only remaining monument of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. And why wouldn't you want to see that?! It also includes the Great Sphinx on the east side of the complex. Another amazing place to see. Full of history!

“Better than expected”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

It is hard to explain the Pyramids as they are so much more in person than they are in photos or on film. They are truly inspiring. Make sure you take a camel ride! It might seem a bit 'touristy', and it is, but gosh it was great fun and the photos are a great momento. Ensure you barter HARD if you buy anything, and remember not to make eye contact with hawkers unless you want to be hassled! they can be a bit much at times.
