“Lovely Mosque”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

Fabulous architecture. Magnificent interior. Dress respectfully, cover shoulders and knees . Take a plastic bag or something to put your shoes in and a scarf to cover you head if you are female. Fabulous panoramic views across Cairo.

“Visit to the mosque”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

It was a beautiful experience to see the mosque. No shoes allowed on the inside floor. The outside panoramic view of the city was beautiful.

Very interesting to see what people could build years ago.
Like all the lights inside the mosque also the location was great.

“One of the most beautiful mosques ever”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

I lived in Egypt for 6 months and this was by far one of the best places I visited. It is beautiful. The architecture is superb. Please be respectful and dress appropriately for a mosque (pants and sleeves). This is a mosque therefore it is free to visit. Don't miss!

“Beautiful place”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

We went on a Friday afternoon, and there were still a couple of groups of people hanging out after praying. The place was beautiful, the construction and history behind it was amazing. I loved listening to the stories of Mohamed Ali´s reign, the good, the bad and the ugly. Also, the presents that came from France, like the un-working clock....it is just a place full of history, combining Egypt, Turkey, and France.
