simply beautiful, unique, soothing and so peaceful... the spirituality and peace is lovely... the mosque is another sight to behold... majestic... grand domes stand tall and high. We loved the ambience and being a woman... it was first time for me inside a mosque... a warm feeling to remember.

“It's the best City Attraction in Cairo”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

As the pyramids are in Giza :), I can state this was the best attraction of our stay in Cairo. The mosque is huge, amazingly situated on the hills of Cairo. The place needs a bit of renovation, but actually the current state adds a bit history to the place. It's actually worth reading a bit about some of the amazing stories related to the place to understand the importance to the local citizens but also the Muslims. A must visit stop when in Cairo.

“Definitely worth visiting!”

Really beautiful area, mosque is modelled on the Blur Mosque and is pretty impressive! The citadel area is also very picturesque.

Beautiful views of the city from outside the mosque!

“Ottoman style Mosque”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

Love the mosques- and this one is not really egyptian, but more like ottoman-european style. pensilshaped minarets means ottoman style. If you have been to istanbul you will see the resemblance to Blue Mosque. Asthe name says its the Mohammad Ali Mosque- so its his grave you see inside.. Clocktower in the open innercourt is the trade of Luis 14 of France and one of the obelisks from luxor temple (place concorde paris)- it never worked.
Inside you will find two pulpits which is extraordinary..
Visit the citadel- it has many things to see and experience for the price of LE50 which is indeed a good price for egypt.
