“A blast from a lovely past”
Reviewed May 4, 2012

The monuments are ancient and awesome, the air is inspiring & serene. It is a place where you feel curious yet also peaceful. Its a spiritual trip but can be more fun in groups and better yet not in the summer because it can be very hot. All in all its like visiting another era with all its mystery.

Reviewed February 4, 2012

This is the only thing that Egypt has, while no other country else has.
It is very old.. and very unique.. and if you are a christian, you would feel like you have been blessed.
poor streets untill you reach the monasteries, but once you are there, you will be astonished

“Do not miss this!”
Reviewed January 1, 2012

Here's a community that has existed since the 4th century and consists of four monasteries. Religious or not, take the time to see Wadi Natrun; it's an easy drive from Cairo and well worth the trip. There is a gift store there worth browsing through as well.
