This boutique hotel is a unique experience; charming decor, well located and exceptionally friendly staff. The owner and manager Hebba Bakri can be congratulated on providing one
of our best (of many) hotel experiences. The rooms are gracious and there is plenty of space, both in the rooms and in the common areas. For anyone planning to visit Cairo, I would certainly recommend Hotel Longchamps, not only because it is relatively inexpensive, but also because it provides an extremely comfortable stay in every way. The location in
a pleasant area in Zamalek provides a great base for touring Cairo and Giza.

We stayed at the Longchamps for 5 nights with a break in the middle for a Nile cruise and really felt we were caming back home after the cruise. Heba provides an oasis of order in the chaos of Cairo. We were moving one of our daughters home from AUC and had to deal with a stomach bug and the staff was fantastic and helpful.

Stayed 3 nights. Have no complaints about the hotel. Room was comfortable and so are the beds. The is some noise but as everyone tells me Cairo is a very noisy city. However we did sleep ok.
Bathroom is ok, but we ran out of hot water on the last day. The staff are friendly and very helpful. This was a welcome change from the thieving locals, cab drivers etc.
The internet is free, but can be slow at times.
Breakfast is a little light, but we left satisfied.
Yes the hotel is in a residential area, and you can walk without any fear.
The hotel is not modern, but has plenty of old charm and character.
We did enjoy our stay in the hotel, but will be glad to be leaving Cairo.
Would i stay again, yes
Would i visit Cairo again, Never.

we were well-cared for during our week at this hotel, could walk to everything and taxi to the rest of Cairo for under 5 bucks. Very helpful staff and nice ambiance, by no means your average tourist lodge, rooms with balcony were the best to enjoy balmy Cairo nights with a cold beer. Would stay there again for sure.

I stayed here for 3 nights on a recent holiday stay. The room and bathroom were large, clean, well lit, and quiet. The bathroom included a selection of first class toiletries usually found only in much pricier hotels. The staff were attentive, speak multiple languages including English, German, French, Italian, Arabic, and probably a few others. They really were interested in making my stay good and making the hotel better. In fact, at the end the hotel owner personally interviewed us to find out what (if anything) she could do to make the hotel better. The breakfast buffet, while not as large as at big hotels, was fine and included enough selections to satisfy. The location is a bit away from the major tourist attractions, but taxis are plentiful and inexpensive (anywhere from $1-5 to most locations). I used the airport pickup and dropoff which worked great, and arranged a private driver to see the pyramids of Giza, Saqqara, and Dahshur at a fair price. (He spoke great English, although I don't know if this is the norm or we were just lucky.)

I would recommend this for anyone who wants a small good value hotel with personal service and doesn't want to pay for a big lobby.

Nice room with terrace, good bed, air conditioning, and hot water, free internet. Lots of recommendations by owners on what/where/when for Cairo. . Its in the embassy area of Cairo where it is quiet and safe and very walkable. Drive to/from Pyramids area can be a challenge mid-day (it took us 1.75 hours FROM another hotel near the pyramids, but it could be that driver). Pretty quick to the airport, maybe 45mins. They have a car service at reasonable prices and with AC. (most taxis you will literally roast and choke on smog if you ride in cairo during the day. it is crazy) They were good with recommendations for small and better than ordinary places to shop for gifts/souveniers, decent breakfast, lots of good places to eat in that area (Zamalek)

I like it that you can get a budget place so close to the center. Malls and museums are nearby and the street is quiet. I felt very safe at the Longchamps and the staff was overall helpful and friendly. I didn't have much time to visit Cairo but I'm sure I will do that when I come back, hopefully soon, and I will definitely stay at the Hotel Longchamps again.
