Owner description: After the Muslims conquered Egypt in 641 AD, they built their city, Al-Fustat, on what is now the southern border of modern Cairo. Today, this section of the city contains many important sites including the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, Mosque of al-Azhar and the Khan al-Khalili market, which is considered the heart of this area.

“Amazing tour”
Reviewed May 2, 2014

I was really excited to see Islamic Cairo and I was amazed at what I saw. The mosques and temples were ancient and beautifully decorated. I really enjoyed going to the sites and being welcomed to pray or chat with locals about the Islamic faith. Must do tripwhile in Egypt.

“Entrance to Arabian Nights!”
Reviewed April 17, 2014 via mobile

As soon as I entered in the chaotic environment of Islqmic Cairo I felt welcomed by invisibles. Its a great journey to the historical times of Arabs. Without this journey Egypt is unseen and unexplored.

“Tremendously chaotic, but you'll like it.”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

The city of Cairo, I believe that there isn't an Arab city in the world comparable to the Egyptian capital. A city tremendously chaotic and unbounded a megalopolis almost impossible to see without the help of a guide or the help of a taxi driver .
The heat, the traffic and bustle, the long and exhausting queues in the car.
A very messy city, but fascinating some lovely places and other areas that seem to have been recently bombarded.
I have to admit, it was a unique experience , I could not enjoy it 100% because the internal crisis and the problems of recent months have destabilized much this fantastic city, you will not see tourists around the city and the locals will look at you as if you arrived from another planet .
In any case, I'm sure one day I'll be back here, I personally love the city and Islamic Cairo is absolutely one of the finest .
