“Saqqara is always a good choice”

Even though it's a little farther than Gizah plateau, you will enjoy this site. Not as crowded and hectic as Gizah. Tke some time to really look around because there is a lot of archeological projects going on. Have fun and enjoy

“A must-visit when in Cairo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is about 30 Km south of Giza pyramids. It lies on an elevated hill with beautiful farms all-around. The sight from above is breath taking. There are many museums and primitive pyramids and tombs to visit. The weather in Winter is beautiful. Make sure to have lunch particularly grilled chicken in one of the nearby restaurants or country clubs.

“SAQQARA PYRAMDIDS”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

The desert landscape was very erry. Seeing the step pyramid and the mortuary of King Djoser was an amazing sight, especially as they were in line with the pyramids at Giza. I enjoyed the personalised guidance of Mona who explained the history generally.

“So impressed with how much I learned about their lives”

The Sakkara pyramids were very impressive as they showed us a glimpse into the lives of the egyptians back in the day.

“peaceful place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

It was one of the oldest pyramid ever built in Egypt. By comparison to Giza pyramid complex, Saqqara complex is more peaceful, has no thugs, vendors and less touristy. I found a local guide, quite good, and has knowledge of the Saqqara, Zozer funerary complex and tomb of Unas. In short, it is a worth a visit.
Tips: you can haggle for the guide's tip, particularly if you bring along your friend who can speak Arabic.
