“thousand years mosque”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

the mosque's beautiful and i mean it, but the government effort to make it clean and neat is quiate a zero IMHO, it's not really maintained by the government, dusty, and it really needs the effort to make this thousand years mosque neat and clean

“Not preserved...”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

In and around this area there is so much history and beautiful architecture but it has been abused and taken over by the local beggars.
The place is swarming with people trying to sell you anything and just want to rip you off... you go to enjoy the beauty of the place but instead have to run through it to avoid being attacked by hustlers.
Oh when you enter the mosque take your shoes with you or you wont find them when you come out and if your gonna take little kids there hold onto there hands for dear life!!!

What a shame.. the army needs to be bought back into the area to stop this nonsense.

“The oldest university in Africa”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

It is the old Cairo....... I loved seeing the old building and the Islamic design. Between prayers we were able to have some photos.

“Renowned, but a disappointment”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

This is one of those institutes that when you hear the name, you stand still & listen. I prepared my entire journey around being in Cairo on a Friday, so that I could attend the Jumma prayer at this world renowned Masjid. It is sad that they donot maintain this prominent place. I really wish the people of Egypt will realise what they have & look after it.
