I love it and the architect in side and outside the mosque, very comfortable and peaceful and the surrounding street is like an old piece of history

“<3 inner peace! =)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2014

1-Go there early in the morning.
2-Take your shoes (holding it in your hands) to the inside better, or somebody will ask you to leave it in the locker its fine also ( but you will pay for that few cents or one dollar max.) ok
3- You need to go early for better calming down and photography time
.. and the traffic would be nice too
4-stay there until Duhr prayer ..
5- enjoy your time and your thoughts at one of the best places in the world :D
thanks .. good luck

“The magic of fascinating Islamic architecture”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2014

Must see also in Old Cairo, not so far from Cairo Citadel. This mosque more than any, presents the magic of fascinating Islamic architecture. Peaceful place for worship as well. The guide explained it took about 3 years to finish building. Used to be a place for education. Madrasa means school in Arabic.
It just needs more effort to clean & provide services for tourism. Do not miss while in Cairo.
Enjoy :)
