“You Miss It, You miss a lot”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

A unique historical place in old Cairo where you can spend the full day utterly dazzled by one of the wonderful historic sites in Cairo surrounded by the great high walls decorated by the Islamic Inscriptions & Arabic Writings , The Old Mosques including Mohammed Ali Mosque.
It is really a Great Tour to have.

“great views from the walls and two lovely mosques.”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

The mosques are impressive and so are the panoramic views from the Citadel walls. Not much else there was open or else you had to pay extra to gain access - another Egyptian scam. The visit only takes a couple of hours.

“Great view of the Cairo skyline”
Reviewed June 14, 2012

A beautiful fortress with spectacular views of the Cairo city scape. In June 2012, the Citadel (along with most other tourist sites), was almost eerily devoid of visitors--sad for the vendors who depend on the tourist trade for a livelihood. Media hype about political unrest has frightened the guests away. But I can attest from first-hand experience that Cairo is as safe and visitor-friendly as ever.
