High level observations:
location slightly out of town, requires a taxi to go anywhere, but upside of this is capacious building, spacious open air pool, decent gym Nile views.
Hotel interior is very attractive.....well designed interiors, beautiful decor, comfortable and contemporary furnishings.
Rooms: big, attractive, comfortable beds, poor noise insulation, shrieking neighbors showers, quality tv screen, could do with another English language channel eg arts or comedy, fox movies not good enough, heavy duvet for warm weather but a/c very good.
Service impeccably polite with a very obliging staff but could perhaps be less decorative and more useful on occasion.
A few minor but annoying issues relating to wifi and the key cards and being kidnapped by the lifts....
Dining.....the breakfast buffet was fine. MY only quibble would be to ask for a choice of coffee....squillions of lovely choices of edibles and juice but one choice of caffeine (filtered).I felt robbed each morning (but the pastries were lovely:).
Had lunch here a few days. Pretty good hotel stand bys - salads, club sandwiches, kebabs etc. And view transcendent - over the Nile. The Zamalek palaces of the past looking back....
All the while, the hotel was basically very good. At times the lack of tourist patronage was apparent and the ratio of staff to guest overwhelming, but the hotel was still best in town.
Was in Nile Rameses and Intercontinental Semi R, and they were poor in comparison. So I felt quite pleased that the Conrad was maintaining its staffing levels.
Room tips....ask if its likely your room will be near a family party and avoid.....or highest floor as you can get ....avoid street noise etc.
Overall will give my experience of the hotel as a 4 out of 5.

Thank you for your feedback on Tripadvisor, your comments are much welcomed, needed and appreciated.
The Conrad Cairo location will please some clients and not others, many of our guests stay with us for the peaceful, safe environment, the beautiful Nile and Pyramids view, especially on higher floors.
I am so pleased you shared your Internet experience with us, and glad to advise that Conrad Cairo Internet bandwidth connectivity will be upgraded to 80 MB pre-wimax, ensuring better speed and clear connection of any cabling resistance.
As for your comments regarding our food and beverage, I have just had a meeting with our Chef discussing your comments and ways of improving our buffet items and variety.
Thank you again and looking forward to meeting you personally.
With best personal and kindest regards

Reading some reviews on TripAdvisor gave me mixed feelings some were good and some bad, but those were immediately dispelled the minute i set eyes on the hotel. if your very fussy and have 7 star expectation you can turn up but if you want a great grand hotel, this is it.
1. great location in the heart of Cairo, vantage location by the Nile.
2.The hotel was built with luxury in mind, you cant miss the tasteful touch, its definitely a grand hotel especially the common areas; lobby, pool area, restaurant ,foyer, etc when you enter the rooms however, it gets a bit datet, its comfortable nonetheless, just a few items like the telephone, carpet should be changed.
3. friendly staff, esp Mr Hussein Kamel the concierge...awesome sense of humor! i was so enamoured by him i forgot to get the names of the 2 men at the front desk who were also very pleasant and gave me a free upgrade to an executive room with a Nile view on the 10th floor coz i was a bit worried about the noise from the club( it def doesn't get to the 10th floor).
4. Great attractions nearby e.g the fellucca rides, cruise on the Nile, the revolving restaurant, and don't miss the Spectra bar & restaurant opp the hotel, im surprised no one mentioned it, their food is great.
5. There are white taxis everywhere, and packed by the exit gate, but have Ur thinking caps on, they have an eye for tourists and hike the price up, haggle to about 1/4th of the price.
6. The concierge gave me the hotels tour and packages which are great especially for over 3 persons starting at $50 and for 85$ for single person, i thought that was expensive and decided to go out on my own, in retrospect, i advice use the hotel tours cos at the end of the day, i spent more than $85 on taxi fare, entry fee to the pyramids grounds, tips and i didnt get to other places in the hotel tour package.
7. the hotel is not far from the airport about 30mins ride or less depending on traffic. and if you want to shop go to dandy mall, city stars mall is in downtown also, but traffic is horrible, Dandy mall is close to 6 october city but its on the express and has great shops too.
8. great complimentary WiFi

Room Tip: Ask for nile view, 10th floor was quiet and no noise from the clubs

Check in was a nightmare, wrong booking add-on (like free breakfast and WIFI), and flooded shower after every shower. Asked room service multiple time to fix it, but no success. Also, staff are not friendly.
