“Wedding/Holiday”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

My daughter was married on 11th February at Le Passage Hotel. A group of 17 of us flew out for the wedding and to stay on for a holiday. The wedding was beautiful and the hotel and wedding planners were very accommodating to our requests for an English twist on the wedding procedure. An aisle was set up in the grounds together with chairs for guests, all were beautifully decorated with ribbon and flowers. The reception was held in the Arabian Tent which again was stunning they incorporated all our requests for table settings and colour scheme and at very short notice. Including the fact that we forgot to order the brides flowers until late the night before, there was absolutely no problem and they were delivered to the hotel in plenty of time for the wedding. The whole day was fantastic and we would like to thank everyone at the hotel for they help.

On the holiday side we stayed for a week at the hotel and had a lovely time, all staff were very friendly and looked after us very well. The facilities were very much enjoyed by all the group including the pool, spa, gym and tennis courts. The food was very good we only went to the main restaurant as we didn't feel the need to venture any further. The rooms were clean but in need of a little tlc, a couple of members report problems with doors sticking or falling off. These were quickly sorted out by the hotel but in general very happy with our stay.

When Egyptair put us up for a day in this hotel at no extra charge as part of their Mumbai to JFK (New York) booking my wife and I expected a stay in only a passable facility. But this hotel turned out to be surprisingly good. Our room in the annexe was decent enough, and the ones in the main hotel building may have been even better.
The plus points: Large, impressive lobby. Spacious and comfortable rooms with balcony. Good layout, especially the pool area. Free Wifi. An opulent and extended-hours buffet with an extensive menu of Continental and Middle East foods, with a breakfast ranked by my wife to be among the best she's had. Travel offices and tours that start from the hotel itself. Free shuttle to the airport. Good security (they have metal detectors and plenty of security personnel at the entrance who were pleasant and efficient.)
A couple of wrinkles: While most staff was very pleasant and polite, a couple at the reception didn't seem to fully understand our questions in English and rolled their eyes while giving monosyllablic answers. We had a long wait at the airport for the hotel shuttle, and it had room for only half of us waiting when it arrived. Check in was a little slow. But the pluses far outweighed any cons.

Room Tip: The rooms in the main hotel are probably better than in the annexe, and those with balconies overloo...

My Egyptian representative suggested that I stay at the Le Passage so we could do business with EgyptAir. It was a nice hotel, fairly clean and updated. The internet worked well and the breakfast was really nice. Service was great – so overall a good place to stay if working at the airport or in transit.

I didn’t have a chance to check out any other hotels in Cairo, so it is not possible for me to compare.

Room Tip: Good restaurants within the hotel. Only eat at the one downstairs but the buffet was good.

I was booked by Egyptair during a business travel so I didn't pay for the room, that was comfortable, big enough and clean. Anyway, even though you are offered a free wifi connection at the bar of the hall and it's really helpful to do some spare office job or reservation during your stay, prices are definitely exaggerated. Just to have an idea, it's 11$ for a beer.. I got the point, it's a Muslim country.. But:
I was at the Irish pub of Marriott in zamalek last year, for a high quality draft beer I spent half. Up to you.

As part of my ticket to South Africa on Egyptair, I was booked into this hotel while in transit. Upon our arrival at Cairo International airport the shuttle bus was waiting for us. We were checked in immediately and everthing was explained to us. Our bags were taken to our rooms, which were very spacious and clean. All 3 meals were a buffet but there was a huge variety and very tasty. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful even though they were aware that we were there only for the day. . When it was time to leave, the shuttle bus was waiting for us and dropped us outside departures. The hotel grounds and gardens and pool area were well maintained and everythig was very clean. Ideal place to stay for day trips to the sphinx and pyramids and it is a 10 min drive to the airport. Ensure that you have cash to pay for any day trips as they do not accept credit cards.

What is this place doing wasted on airport road? A great pool, a children's playground, a spa, casino, restaurants, and shops, this place is really a nice gem in the vicinity of the airport. We spent our last day there in order to catch a wee-morning flight and it was worth it. The Italian place inside was a bust - bland food and poor service - but the other aspects were great. We were put in our room right away and there is shuttle service to the airport 24 hours a day with just a quick phone call.

Room Tip: None of them have a super view as the area around the hotel just isnt great.

I was booked in the Hotel by Egyptair for 7 hours transit. I arrived in cairo airport at 7 am after a long 12 hours overnight flight. I found the hotel shuttle bus waiting in the designated area. In 10 minutes we were in the Hotel. Inspite of having 3 free receptionists; they declined to check guests with voucher except with one of them. We reached to receptionist; but she apologised that the room would be ready in half an hour. We went to the Restaurant for breakfast . The breakfast was open buffet and was extremely nice and delicious with a lot of varieties to choose.
We spent one hour hoping the room would be ready, but the receptionist said another 10 minutes. After 3 hours of my arrival,I had to find somebody in Adminstration as my flight time is approaching; it's rediculous to spend half my time in hotel waiting in the lobby. A lady from a back office moved around and made some calls, promised in another 10 minutes the room would be ready. I got the room in theback yard of the hotel negotiating a lift, stairs, several corridors, the garden, swimming pool and difficult unpaved pathways to reach our junk place.
The room was simple, basic, poor lighting, Electricity plug was without cover, a lot of bare wires coming out, very dangerous to use. The bed was very narrow and definitely is not for double. The housekeeping cleaning next room turned their TV to maximum with an interconnecting door and thin walls, you can hear the noise clearly. I had to alert them that we need some sleep, he lowered the sound a bit. Then came another male housekeeper arguiing with his friend in a very loud voice.
Really, I would never voluntarily come to this hotel.
