I stayed here one night on my way to Luxor and liked it so well that I booked it again on my return

Prepare for a pleasant surprise. It's located in a safe green park. Plenty of security at entrance. You can have coffee and watch horses being trained.

Super-friendly staff. Dina at converters desk was fabulous. Lots of extras. A small casino on the property. Several restaurants with different cuisines. Free car to/from Cairo Museum, which is a must-see despite Cairo's dreadful traffic. Free shuttle to airport. Excellent value--about $145US including taxes--Internet price with no hassle. Some reviewers chavez complained of noise but I found it just the opposite--very quiet. The lobby and entrance quite elegant.

10 minute drive from airport. They will send car free but a quick taxi ride is $15 US with no wait.

Lovely room. Ask for room facing terrace rather than interior courtyard.

I was attending a meeting in one of the hotel's executive meeting rooms with other managers, while in discussion with colleague in the meeting room, a nail or a piece of small wood in the wall ripped my trousers! i went to the front desk and showed them my tear trouser and asked them to escalate to customer care.. The amazing that i got no immediate attention, just the guy in the fron desk replied "sorry", i continued my meeting the following 2 days and got no further than the "Sorry"! I'm disappointed sice then and kept telling everyone about my experience.

First off, if you want to be in the centre of Cairo, this hotel is not for you; it is about half way between the airport and the centre of Cairo which was great for me. The rating of a hotel's location is really subjective anyway and I mention this because this hotel has received a lot of negative comments about its location but what might be great for one person is not for another so it's quite simple; if you want to be in the centre of Cairo - don't stay here; if you want a luxurious hotel with pool, fantastic service and a colonial style atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle then do - the choice is yours. It really annoys me when people go on about the hotel's poor location: if you don't like the location then stay somewhere else!!!!!!!!
Anyway, for me this is one of my favourite hotels in the world and believe me I've stayed in a lot of hotels (see my map). I always arrive here late at night and sometimes, especially during Ramadan there is a hive of activity outiside with late night supper. On this occasion though it was well and truly Winter so I had wonderful mezze on room service.Next day I went down and joined a couple of my colleagues for afternoon refreshments and in the evening dined in the excellent Italian restaurant. The food and wine were excellent. Instead of paying a ridiculous price for an imported wine (due to this country's absurd taxes on imported wine) I asked for the best local wine and it was amazingly good. I had tuna tartare to start and lamb chops with all the trimmings for main and it was fantastic. The service was wonderful but that goes for all the staff in this hotel.
It's just marvellous - not pretentious or over the top - this hotel has it spot on.
The rooms are lovely with rich tones, the staff great, the pool and outdoor areas wonderful when the climate permits. It really is very hard to fault this hotel.

I stayed at the Concord El Salama in May 2010 for 2 days. This was like an oasis in the desert- very beautiful old style hotel- well appointed, wonderful decor & lovely chandeliers.
The room was quite big, bathroom and toilet were very clean, view of the swimming pool, all modern amenities present. wonderful restaurant-fantastic breakfast buffet- they actually kept a honeycomb and the honey could be collected- range of foods from arabic to western and italian, spread of fruits and drinks- great value for the price paid.
The driveway is a long way off from the actual entrance so if you are walking its quite a way off- wish the hotel would have a short cut-maybe for security reasons its not allowed. Large parking place in front of the hotel, ample taxis and shuttles available- mini post office and travel bureau with money exchange on site.
Front desk and employees very helpful and courteous
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

This was a good choice of hotel to end our tour Archers/Cosmos with. The location was not great for the town but very close to the airport; being so close to the airport we did not get any aircraft noise.

The room was nice and well-furnished for our needs, everything was clean and modern. The reception areas were high ceilinged and nicely furnished with waiter service throughout. It had nice restaurant patio areas together with a nice outside pool, loungers and chairs and tables under the trees again with an outside bar and waiter service.

Restaurants were good about 4 of them we ate in the Pasta/Pizza restaurant and had the biggest pizza I have ever been faced with and to cap it all we have a very wholesome vegetable soup as a starter. Talk about being stuffed, it was the cheapest meal we paid for out there even the beer was cheaper than all the other hotels we had stayed in on the tour. Breakfast was never ending there was such a lovely choice including catering for the western diet.

The staff was excellent nothing was too much for them and they did not make it obvious they wanted tipping for everything they did.

Yes I would recommend this hotel including its excellent 5 Star service.
