Egypt 🇪🇬 2019

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 27, 2019via mobile
This was a great hotel. Not much to do since there was a lot of guards with large guns watching. I visited with Gate1. The Nile tour was a waste of time and wished I’d go view Abu Simbel. Maybe next time 👎🏾

Dear valued guest,

Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback with us. Please allow us to elaborate that excursions are organized through your tour operator not through the hotel. regarding the guards and guns, they might were from the local authorities here in Egypt not form hotel security team. thank you very much for describing our hotel as a great hotel. we look forward to welcoming you back again soon .

Best Regards

I always like to come back to this beautiful hotel with the exceptional atmosphere and the quiet and beautiful garden where one can relax.
My sincerest thanks goes to Miss Shimaa who was always so friendly and helpful at the breakfast area and to Mr Khaled who checked me in at night with such a welcoming smile and tried to fulfill all my wishes even at this time. In general very very friendly staff everywhere at this hotel.Thank you!
I enjoyed my stay very much and plan to come back soon

BAD service.. 1st;I'm a platinum BONVOY member ,in the reception I informed him that I'm a platinum member to have the upgrade, he acted like he didn't believe me and to show him my account on my mobile, when I did he kept on searching thru my phone and I told him all you need is my privilege number why are you going thru my phone? He replied with a provocative way that he's looking for a message that he sent to me!! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???
secondly: the shower sewage was blocked (as always with this hotel, the shower sewage is always blocked) and according to them (it's normal to have the water risin)!!!
3rd: they manipulated with me regarding my BONVOY points, i paid for everything (Som3a cafe-room dining- the reception- busniss center) everytime when I ask them regarding having a discount or points they refuse, even I gave the reception all my Bill's to earn points; they called me after 1 day and told me that this service is not a available in this hotel and the ONLY way to have points or discount is thru the room dining and its should be deducted from the deposit Not by direct payments!!!
Worse service as it's obviously no one know what is a BONVOY and how to earn points or how to get discounts.. Any BONVOY members shouldn't go to this hotel as they will mess up your benefits and rights as a member and everyone says a different thing from the other. Plus till now I didn't collect the 1000 welcoming points although I told the receptionist CLEARLY that I don't want the complimentry breakfast and I want the 1000 points but they even ignored it !!.. the only benefit that i had is a higher floor double room and access to lounge to have breakfast

There's a lot to like about the Cairo Marriott. The building is a 19th-century palace with two wings relatively tastefully added and the view form the room over the Nile is remarkable. The garden bar/restaurant is a rare oasis amid the chaos of Cairo and there are more eating and drinking options than you can take in. The big drawback, though, is the erratic service. Some aspects are exceptional - the man who cleaned my room couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful; one particular waiter at breakfast had my order memorised by the third day - but others are weirdly bad. Check-in and check-out were chaos with a bewildering queuing system, while service at times in the bar and the downstairs restaurant was inexplicably slow. It's very good but there it could be better.

From my perspective the best Hotel in Cairo, as it has a great history as a hunting castle and is well preserved. The interior in the entrance hall and dining areas is stunning. The rooms are very big and the beds comfi.
I love the big garden and the pool. The garden restaurant for breakfast is amazing and the staff considerate and really friendly. Especially Shimaa is always looking for the needs of the guests and knows what is missing, before I know it.

We found the hotel quite lovely, with a generous-sized room and comfortable bed. Staff throughout were pleasant and courteous. The breakfast buffet had many tasty treats on offer to start the day. The outside area and pool were very nice and a great place to catch a casual meal or snack. There was not much in the immediate vicinity around the hotel to see or do (except eat at a handful of Egyptian restaurants).

Room tip: A river view is always nice
